Frozen!

Hi everyone,
How are you?

Don't worry, I'm not frozen, I've been to see Frozen.
I promised my grand-daughter that I'd take her to see the musical in London for her birthday and for various reasons yesterday was the first opportunity to go.
So along with her mum and two aunties we traveled to London to see the matinee show at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane London.

I had a busy morning to get ready to leave at 10.30.  I live about an hour from London, but allowing for traffic, parking and the tube ride I wanted to make sure we'd have plenty of time.  I'd decided to wear a dress with boots and took a chance on my faux leather jacket to be warm enough.  I just about managed to get away with it as once in town the weather wasn't too bad and I didn't have very far to walk.

I thought I'd share a few photos from my day so you can see what I wore and everything else I got up to. X

Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.

I've just started getting back into my dresses this week and since this was a special occasion I felt it would be nice to wear this new dress I'd been sent from a new-to-me company Needs No Label.

It's a pretty chiffon dress that's covered in assorted pink and white flowers over the black slightly see-through fabric.  It's got a discretion panel on the front which is a cross over style on the bust & it's also half lined to just below the knee which gives a bit of extra glam.  As this was a new brand to me, I was concerned about the sizes, but no need to worry, the sizes were true to form and I was pleased with my normal size and it fitted well.  With reasonable prices (this was £48) I'll definitely be looking at the other options that Needs No Label have on offer!

I'm just loving this perfect theatre outfit.  It would also be suitable for a dinner date or fun night out.
It's a maxi style which worked well with knee high boots and my black jacket. I was so pleased that I wasn't too cold in it.  I'd put on a full slip underneath and added my cerise pink scarf and black leather gloves, both were greatly appreciated and complimented beautifully.

After the show finished we made our way to the restaurant we had booked. My daughter have found Bella Italia on The Strand and we had a tasty meal in there. The staff were very friendly and so helpful and nothing was any trouble for them.
They had an extensive menu to chose from but funny enough we all had the same - Gamberoni pasta with garlic bread. My princess had a big portion of bolognaise with garlic bread too.  Bella Italia had a special offer on and our main meals were an amazing £5 each! We thought the portion sizes would replicate the price but we were pleasantly surprised that they were usual sizes.
I would recommend you checkout the offers before you book your table as not every restaurant has this offer running!

After our delicious dinner we found our way to an ice cream parlour with a difference.
The Milk Train, in Covent Garden, served a big selection of ice cream and waffles with candy floss around the cone or tub. Yes it was as yummy as it looked and with princess having her own, the girls and I shared one. Who else is like us and only needs a couple of spoons of dessert, just to please a sweet tooth?

Thanks to you all for coming to the blog today I hope I've helped you maybe book a trip to see a show in London. Please ask any questions you have either about my dress or my afternoon at the Theatre.
I am thrilled to have you here, so do stop back for the #LINKUP on Thursday.
Have a good week my friends.
Bye for now. X

  2. What a fabulous occasion! I've only ever seen one show in London, that was probably about ten years ago and it was also at Drury Lane! It was The Bodyguard and it was amazing. We went by limo too, which was an experience. My MIL needed the loo really badly and so we ended up pulling into a McDonalds so she could go!! And she was so dolled up, it was hilarious!!!
    Big hugs

  4. Your granddaughter is beautiful! What a delightful day you all had! And, your dress is gorgeous! On our last trip to the UK, we saw Wicked, but I don't recall the theatre. Ah, I'd love a trip there now! But, we will have to wait a bit as the husband is not feeling quite up to it.

    1. Marsha, thanks for dropping in! I've also seen Wicked, it's one of my favourites! I could go every week if I could, but the prices are so high now, it costs a fortune to go! Hope hubby is okay my friend. x
