What to wear with a Boucle Coat.

Hi there everyone.
Hope all is good for you, are you ready for next weekend?

I'm finally there, just have to collect a couple of pieces I ordered online and get them wrapped then I'm done!
It'll be nice to enjoy the run up to the special day this year, as I think it's one of the first I'm not running around like a headless chicken at this stage of the game .. lol!
David had a couple of bits to do on the new build over the weekend.  Two big steels had to be fixed to the footings and he managed to get it done albeit in the cold and damp weather.  The bricks have now been delivered too, we had to get them passed by the council because we live in a conservation area.  They are ready and waiting to be laid which will most probably be in January ... I hope!

So the jeans are a dark wash, which I prefer to wear in the Winter.

So today's outfit is one I've been wearing before we had snow.  The boots are suede so I didn't want to ruin them and the coat is a tad short and quite thin to wear in the extreme temps we've had recently, so I've been wearing my padded maxi at every opportunity, which has kept me dry and toasty warm.

Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.

I've been wearing my straight leg jeans a lot over the past few months, but when I found these tan boots I fancied, since seeing them in the Outlet, I knew they'd look good with my skinny's.  And yes they do look super don't you think?
Let me elaborate on the boots.  I was shopping in the outlet a few weeks ago and found some suede boots in Clarks, they didn't have my size, so I set about finding some.  Luckily for me I did.  They were on Vinted and I was just about to click the button & purchase them when I thought about checking Ebay out.  To my joy I found these for just £20 plus postage and promptly bought them.  Proper brand new suede boots for an absolute bargain!

So the jeans are a dark wash, which I prefer to wear in the Winter, however the two pairs I usually wear are a lighter wash and I've been meaning to look for some darker, straight styles - maybe in the sales after Christmas I'll find some.  I found these in the Zara sale and did a bit of DIY and frayed them myself.
Tight jeans aren't my most favourite at the moment, but tucked into boots and topped with a chunky jumper and longer length coat I think they are still passable - do let me know what you think!

Okay I'm going to spill the beans on this coat.  I have an ongoing liking for Bonmarche clothes and have many pieces in my wardrobe that I love to wear.  This Boucle coat* was kindly gifted to me from them and has played a major role in my outfits since getting it.  It's a cosy little number that just feels super on.
Navy is a brilliant go-with-anything colour.  I plan to work it with many more shades having started with dark wash jeans and my lighter wash styles.  It has a deep V neck so a scarf keeps that area warm and can play host to plenty of other bright accents, so far I've worn cerise pink, leopard print and caramel
I love pockets and these are a super size patch style that can hold gloves, keys and the like.  There's no losing stuff with big pockets eh?
This is a popular jacket and enjoys a 20% discount so it's selling fast, do grab one while you can!

Jeans and a jumper what's not to like about this combination?  It's a perfect ensemble for Winter and one I go to really often.  My caramel jumper was an affordable little purchase from Mango last year.  I'd seen a lady on Instagram wearing one similar so decided to steal her style, this one was a little bit big, but that was soon remedied by a couple of turns in the tumble dryer - problem sorted!

I kept the tan theme going and added my round bag, which you've seen before.  Points to add, including the same colours but with different textures always add interest to any look, I appreciate an outfit with lots of different things to see, it makes it stand out and get noticed.

  1. A nice coat is perfect with everything. I have to do my grocery shopping tomorrow and I can relax all of the way. It was so nice to get up later this morning as the children are home for the holidays and not school buses to catch!
