Mother's Day Ideas - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Morning my friends.
How are you?
After my busy weekend it's been nice to have a quieter week.  I've been to the gym and apart from that I've basically stayed at home doing 'catching up bits', a bit of ironing and generally tidying up - it's been quite therapeutic really! I'm not out at the weekend so it'll be good to have a takeaway and watch an exciting film or two.  I do have a ballet exam on Saturday afternoon, but that will only be about a quarter of an hour and will be over in a flash!

We do have another special day emerging on the horizon though as the weekend after hosts Mother's Day.  I try to combine being with the children with seeing my mum, we either go out for a meal or have a roast at home with everyone giving a helping hand - not sure what the plan will be this year, but fingers crossed I wont have to cook ... ha ha.

I'm always a very lucky lady on special days like this and every year I get beautiful cards, lovely messages and thoughtful gifts, so today I thought it might be helpful to share some ideas of what to buy the special women in your life.

Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.

With jacket season coming up I figured it would be great to include this attractive jean jacket into the mix.  This is from Cotton Traders who are a new-to-me-store, well what I mean is I've never bought anything from them before, but have seen the adverts on telly.  I have to say I've been pleasantly impressed with the quality and range they have to offer, they cater from women, men, kids, home, footwear, accessories and have essentials both online and in store.

So more about this charming denim jacket* It's the prettiest shade of pink you can imagine.  Pink is my favourite colour, so I had to add this candy pink tone to my collection as it would look super over dresses, skirts and trousers alike.
This cool classic has been re-invented with fabric that has a slight stretch through it, side patch pockets, long sleeves with cuffs and buttons, matching stud buttons to fasten and welt pockets on either side.  This flattering jacket looks super teamed with my latest acquisition from M & S and is causing a Spring vibe wherever I go!

I do hope you don't tire of this pretty pink jacket as I reckon you're going to see plenty of it over the next few months, you must have noticed how often I've worn my regular version over the past few years!😀 See it with a pleated skirt here.

What about PJ's*?  Do you wear them?  I like to have a pair to lounge around in and find them easier when I'm on holiday, away with the girls or when I'm just too lazy to get dressed - I want to look fabulous in my jammies don't I!  When I saw these on the Cotton Traders site I wanted to include them on my Mother's Day list, after all who wouldn't love to receive something as pretty and comfortable as mine!
This stylish pair of woven pyjamas comes in the prettish shade of duck egg green and has a floral pattern across them.  They're a lightweight fabric which will give you a fabulous soft feeling to the skin and enables a comfortable nights sleep.  The full length trousers have a easy to wear elastic waist and the short sleeve top has a full set of buttons and a helpful pocket that's piped too like the rever collar.

You may well know I love to wear neutrals just as much as I like to put bright and bold shades.  So when Nomads asked me to pick something from their fabulous selection of Ethical and Fairtrade items I pounced on this Boxy jumper* - loving how it looks over my light-wash jeans.
Please read in more detail why you should choose organic cotton clothing here but simply put I quote from Nomads:

Organic cotton is the best form of cotton, both for the planet, the growers and the people who wear the clothing.  Organic cotton clothing is a pleasure to wear because of its breathability - it will keep you cool in the Summer, and cosy in the Winter, plus it will last far more wears in between washing than synthetic fibres.  Reducing water usage and your energy bill - who can argue with that!

Let me share a couple of good points about the jumper, it has 3/4 sleeves and a nice wide neckline which is ribbed.  The classic knit has a deep hem, also ribbed, which has slits on either side, thus creating a roomy & comfortable top.
Available in S,M,L & EL it fits true to size and comes in two other colours ... firecracker & pewter. Both of which will look super with jeans and will turn your casual outfit into an appealing ensemble.
I'll be featuring a couple of other pieces from Nomads, one of which is a very stylish jumpsuit that I'd like you to see - hope you'll watch out for it & join me again.

As you can see my jumper looks smashing with jeans, but will look just as nice teamed with dresses and trousers.  It's a baggy style that gives off a casual vibe & I'd happily pop it on over a swimsuit at the beach when the weather turns chilly, or rock up in town for a spot of shopping.
My chosen look here is over 3/4 jeans, they've been on the blog before - these I chopped a big chunk off as they were far too long for cropped, but too short to look like normal.  I love the relaxed feel of the wide legs and am quite taken with the overall look.
I added a scarf, but not just any scarf - this one belonged to my best friends mum.  It's nice to be reminded of such a special lady who meant such a lot to me. 💚
