Style not Age share the Eye of the Tiger.

Good morning my lovely friends.
All being well I'll be on the slopes enjoying a ski trip to Italy as you read this.  If not, I've caught the lurgy and I'm the one crying in the corner!  Seriously though it's causing a big problems for people having to do a Covid test before travelling and I understand why they have to be done, but it's not helping the travel industry is it.
All the family have been worried to some extent.  If the test was positive on Saturday I wouldn't have been able to fly or come away, with Covid running riot through schools etc it's been hard to know what to do - see the kids/grandkids or not - and you know how hard that's been not to see them like I do!!

Anyway less about that and more about the ladies from Style not Age.

This is the brand new challenge of 2022, and I'm looking forward to styling a suitable outfit.  I'm also excited to work with the fabulous ladies throughout the coming year - hope we will be able to actually meet up IRL too!
Emma - Style Splash led the way for the first challenge of the year and boy did it have me stumped!

How would you have fared with the prompt ... Eye of the Tiger.

"Tiger, Tiger burning bright!"

We certainly have some bright and cheerful looks today - what a lovely combination orange, black and cream are.
I took photos indoors for this look as the weather was naff and I didn't have someone around at the right time - but do you spot anything different in my dressing room?  I'll reveal all in the next post!

I have to admit I really struggled with this one.  I had all these visions in my mind of well though-out looks and matching jewellery, alas that wasn't to be for me.  So when I found this absolutely stunning blouse on the New Look website my enthusiasm gathered in abundance and my heart jumped for joy .... hooray I had an outfit and I was ready to pounce.

I'd be stalking the shops to find something suitable, but unfortunately didn't find a single thing - lots of leopard, snake and animal print but no tiger!  I resorted to online shopping and found this bargain in the New Look sale.
It's a blouson style shirt with elastic on the hem and cuff - I quite like a finish like this as there's no fiddly buttons to fasten and keeps everything in place.  I would say the large came up really big so I could probably have got away with a Medium but they didn't have one - so there you go!

I was drawn to the pattern obviously - it's a mix of tiger print with leopard through it to, but my favourite part of the blouse is this striking side pussy bow tie.  A bit different from the obvious middle neck tie and makes for a really interesting look.

I just had to team it with my faux leather trousers, I've had them for years and they still look and fit so well.  Are you a faux leather jean wearer?  Would you be tempted to buy some?  Mine were ridiculously cheap at £20 and have lasted really well - no flaking or splitting!

Final touch from my slouch boots.  I though the tan would make a nice change from the normal black boot and don't they stand out well. Tell you a little secret I've rolled them over inside a couple of times creating more of a pixie boot!  Look fab don't they - I've linked a proper pair below in the Shop My Look section if you fancy getting your own!

Now shall we take a look at what Emma and the girls look like.

We certainly have some bright and cheerful looks today - what a lovely combination orange, black and cream are.

Emma from Style Splash has opted for a similar top to mine, but I love yours worn with bright orange trousers.

A roaring success for Anna's pick of sparkly orange sequins.  What a fabulous jacket. Find more of Anna's striking styles on her blog Anna's Island Style.

Hilda - Over The Hilda. Has let this amazing bag take center stage for the challenge today, what a stunning bag and I can see why you picked it Hilda. Do hop over to her blog for all the details.

Gail - Is This Mutton was also stumped by this prompt, but has tackled it brilliantly.  The necklace Gail chose to wear certainly does look like The Eye of a Tiger, so I'd say you got this spot on my friend.

Cheers for joining us today, it's been fun.  You can catch us all on the last Monday of the month for a new challenge, we look forward to you stopping by.
Maybe you could give us a title you'd like us to tackle one month.
Bye, bye for now. X

  1. This is such a cool theme, but I would have struggled too. I don't think I own a single thing in tiger print. Kudos to Gail for choosing a Tiger's Eye necklace instead. Genius! You look absolutely fabulous, Jacqui—that blouse was a real find! Love it with the faux leather jeans and boots. Gorgeous!
