Fashion and Lifestyle Blogger for the over Fifties - What real women wear!

Thursday 4 April 2019

Hang in there!

Hi there fellow over fifty bloggers.
Did you notice my April Fools Day joke?  Well it wasn't really a joke but I missed posting on Monday!  Due mainly to a really busy weekend of fun and enjoyment.
Friday I was out all day and dancing in the evening, Saturday I was busy getting food ready for the evening get-together along with having brunch with the family.  We celebrated Mother's Day a day early at a local restaurant.  I got some lovely sentimental and meaningful cards, beautiful flowers and a classic knitted Co-Ord set that I'd been dreaming about - will be posting that in the next couple of weeks, it's ticking all my boxes so I can't wait to share it with you. Finally on Sunday I attended a wedding,  it was truly an emotional, memorable and beautiful day - I was totally worn out and gave into the fact I couldn't blog and shouldn't beat myself up that I wouldn't be posting on Monday - please forgive me being AWOL - It won't happen again!

Do you remember my leopard outfit last week, it was just hanging together and looked great, well another mixture caught my eye too, very similar but after the liberating feeling I had when producing my latest Style not Age creation my self confidence oozed so another mixed pattern has taken shape!

This pencil skirt has been a rich addition to my wardrobe, getting lots of respect from all I pair it with.  Loving the warmer tones of this leopard pattern, and it's been nice to mix it with earthy colours to create a more glowing look.

Teaming the skirt with a pale coral silky top, that's been around for years.  I bought this along with a few other colours in Matalan, they pair with so many skirts, trousers and jeans I only wished they'd had more choice than the, yellow, cream, black and aforementioned coral - in need of grey or pale blue if you're reading Matalan!!😉 Rather like this neutral version from M & S.

Hadn't expected the sunshine to make an appearance so had to nip back and get my sunglasses to stop my squinting, so excuse the above shot!
With the same tones in this Hobbs jacket as my pencil skirt I saw they looked super together.  My pattern mixing is still in it's infancy stage, but I'm working hard to improve my scores.

I leave you today a very excited Mummb, as I'm waiting for my grandson to arrive! He's due TODAY so fingers crossed he hurries up and arrives safely to have some nanny cuddles. 👶
