A little nervous to share this post with you today.
You see for the very first time I'm styling lingerie, yes an over fifty year old styling lingerie!
I jumped in feet first without thinking of the consequences! I'd been approached by Playtex Lingerie asking if I'd like to feature some underwear on the blog. As I said I sent my affirmation without too much thought, once the pieces arrived and I started wondering just how I would style them, I know it's not hard - just put them on and take photos - right? wrong! How shall I pose? How much do I show? What will people think of my body? Where shall we take the shots? I have to say I had a few days worrying about it all!
Let's see did I or didn't I??
Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.
After much deliberation I studied a couple of blogs I knew had styled such 'tender' issues - one in particular dear Suzy from Suzy Turner made me realise I should just go for it.
Scanning the lingerie selection of Very.co I liked all the sets, but settled on this the Playtex Invisible Elegance underwired bra* with matching Invisible Elegance Midi Brief*.
I opted for the black set and just love wearing coordinating lingerie. I'm wearing a 34c that has a full cup with a pretty feminine floral design over it, both these & the matching briefs, in a medium, were true to size so you can feel happy ordering your normal size for a comfortable supportive fit. Prices are £32 for the bra and £17 for the briefs to complete the set. Both soft next to the skin and are hand wash only - as with lots of underwear I already own. I admit to putting other pieces in the machine on a hand wash setting, which I may well do with these pieces - but wouldn't like to suggest you do that.
Wearing underwear is basically just like wearing a bikini on the beach and that my friends is something I always do when I'm away - I really don't care what people think of me there. It's a case of I don't know you and will never see you again! But what about the family and friends who might be with me? I don't even give them a moments thought either as we're all normally wearing the same beach attire. So why do I feel different now? It has to be that I'll stand out! You wouldn't walk around Tesco or Sainsbury's wearing just a bikini with a thin beach wrap would you, but it's totally acceptable on your holidays! We think nothing of seeing a burly man wandering around the local Spar wearing his budgie smugglers do we - but imagine if you bumped into him at home, in Waitrose especially if it was down the sausage aisle - 🤣🤣 enough said!
So my reason to be so shy is that we don't want to be different. but hey ho I'm going ahead with doing something not the norm and wearing my underwear on here - being different!
Keeping a little modesty in this Matalan lightweight marl and lace robe, which will come in handy in the summer when a snuggly dressing gown will be way to hot. Just the job for £14!
At this point I'd like to mention I've had five children, had a wonderful life, with plenty of good food and not enough exercise ..... just saying!!😅😅
