Out of my Comfort Zone In a F & F Jumper.

Hi there.
How are you all?  This over fifty blogger is fine and dandy!
For some reason this jumper makes me think of Star Trek!  I think possibly it's the colour or maybe the deep V reminds me of  Mr Spock's pointy ears - lol, but it doesn't resemble any of the uniforms they wore!!
Anyhow, I saw this knitwear in Florence and Fred last week and nearly passed it by.  You see it's not something I would normally chose, but since starting blogging I've wanted to try and step out of my comfort zone.  I've grasped the art of mixing accessories on occassions, although I still like matchy matchy, like my grey, lemon and leopard print outfit, also attempting pattern mixing from time to time too.  Here's gingham and floral or check out Another way with my Bias-Cut shirt!

So back to the jumper - what do you think?  Thumbs up or thumbs down?

I normally go for a plain designs, something that mixes in with anything.  I've got cardigans in various colours including a black, a red and my recent addition of a brilliant pink one.  They all pair nicely with much of my wardrobe, adding warmth and therefore extension to a summer outfit.  When I spotted this recently I though what have I got to lose and promptly bought it!  I wondered if it would look cool over jeans, especially my frayed cropped jeans.

The deep V pattern is really in your face as soon as you see it, a colour mixture that I wasn't truly happy with, red, pink and white, and where the V sits on my shoulders make them look very wide.  How are you feeling about the top?

Another thing I'm not liking on me is where the jumper finishes, it's not short & fitting on the waist, but not long to cover my behind - just sitting at that non-flattering in-between area!

Have you guessed yet that I'm not really feeling my purchase? On a positive note, I quite like the stripe detail on the wrist, maybe if the neck was a circle rather than a V I might have looked more favourably on it!

I adore a white bag, and when I saw this months ago in TK Maxx I just couldn't say no! Okay, okay I didn't actually need a new white bag, but hey ho when did we only buy bags when we need them, ha ha ha!  To be fair I did use birthday money so that doesn't really count does it? 😉

Sometimes it's good to try something different, something you'd not normally pick - chances are you might love it, but occasionally we know just what we really like and know what suits us.  I'll just put this one down to experience - shame it's not a winner in my eyes. 😖

    1. I'm still not sure if it's me Laurie - you know I like the classic look and this is right out there in the statement fashion! Yes I'm not impressed with no online, I hadn't realised until the other day! Big mistake for them I think! x

  2. I like the jumper at the back but I'm unsure whether I like the V print on the front. But the colour is fabulous on you, Vicki!
You know what it reminds me of – is the robes students wear when they're graduating!! I've no idea why lol!!
    You look gorgeous nonetheless!

  3. Jacqui, I don’t think the jumper is as bad as you are thinking, but you look uncomfortable in it. It certainly does not have the wow factor that many of your other outfits have, but it is still a cute knock-around kind of style. The V is a bit Spockish now that you mentioned it and it also reminds me of the clothing from that old 80’s television show Too Close for Comfort (or maybe it was the wall with the rainbow V zigzag stripes that it reminds me of)....which is funny since you titled this Out of My Comfort Zone. That being said...I love the color on you and I really like the pink and red together. Your shoes are darling and that bag is fantastic and your jeans are super cute, too! Not a total loss at all. And good for you for going outside of your comfort zone and trying something new.

  5. I rather like the jumper, but I know what you mean about that "in between" length. I'm all for trying something different...nothing ventured, nothing gained!

  6. I think your jumper is lovely Jacqui. I have some new navy jeans with a red strip down that would look rather nice with this jumper. Thanks for linking up to The Wednesday Blog Hop. Hope you can join me tomorrow :)
