Dark floral tunic with Jeggins & long boots.

Morning, how are you all?  What you been up to?

Back from my holiday with mixed feelings.  I simply love skiing and hate to leave such stunning scenery after having so much fun on the slopes, but I need to rest my achy legs - this fifty year old is not used to such an exhausting activity.  Can I have a few days off and go back again please?  Pretty please? 🤣

Since arriving home I've been checking out your blogs and have seen a lot of you embracing the latest Pantone trend of violet.  Never having worn this colour, so not knowing if it would suit me or not. Luckily I found this tunic blouse with the colour picked out in the pretty flowers and leaves over it.  I thought it would be perfect to add the trending tone to my wardrobe.  Here I've worn it over black jeggings & long black boots.  I'm loving the dark florals that have been exploited this AW season, they bring a feminine feel to many a dull outfit.
I've been happy to wear both floral trousers and a decorative jacket in recent months.

It was so cold I had to cover up a little with my fur gilet, but it does give depth and interest to my look.

This blouse is a good length for me sitting mid thigh,  & I love the flattering pleats on the back giving great movement as I walk.
How about the necklace I chose?  Esther and I had a chuckle good laugh about this - I suggested it looked like a Western neck tie however she saw a completely different type of neckwear - a noose!

If you fancy wearing the latest colours but don't want a full on version try my option and pick a garment with splashes on it.  You could also inject colour by way of a bag, some shoes, a scarf or some jewellery, all work & won't cost a lot either.

Esther Ruby kindly took these photos - on a freezing day I might add - thanks so much . X

Wish me luck for the next few days for after a good holiday comes plenty of washing and ironing!
Hope to see you again on Thursday, until then have a super time.

Bye for now. X

  1. Pretty tunic Jacqui. My daughter would see it as a noose too, haha. I'm not sure violet will suit me but it seems that shops are bringing out a wide range so not sticking to The shade.

  3. Nice idea, Jacqui, using that pretty floral mix to test drive a new colour.
Personally, I'm excited and thankful to Pantone for choosing for once a colour that's also kind to the, ahem, more mature skin, so I have great expectations for me and ultraviolet !! Hugs,x.
