Style Steal - Pink and Blue - my kind of colours.
Morning lovelies.
Hope you're well.
So happy you've joined me today - since it's the third Monday in the month I'm sharing a Style Steal.
The two colours I'm featuring today really are two of my favourite ones - pink, always has been & cobalt blue a recent addition. I tended to steer towards red when I was younger feeling it went better with my colouring, but since seeing a program on tv a few years ago I've somewhat changed my mind. The stylist showed that with a bit of a tanned skin blue can look just as good if not better! I'm not even sure that pink suits me really but as it's always been at the top of my colour chart I always gravitate to anything in it's tone, and I love it so basically it has to suit me! Lol
So let's see what I'm talking about.
I've been styling this dainty pleated skirt a different way each month and there's another look coming your way on Thursday, but I wanted to use it today for this Style Steal too - so there's two looks with this Primark skirt in one week! Kind of a twofer. Also see it previously styled with a mustard lace top and worn casually here.

Style Steal - Emerald Green Dress. #Chicandstylish #LINKUP
Hi there - how are you my friends.
I'm featuring a 'sort of' Style Steal today - Having left arranging this to the last minute I've improvised!
I'll share all with you in a bit.
How was your Easter? Mine was busy as usual, spent quality time with the family, and in our small house it was rather packed. Fortunately the weather was playing nicely so we spend lots of time in the garden - enjoying rather than working - lol. We were out on Saturday night, having a drink with my sister & brother-in-law. Sunday with my daughter and her family we decided on a BBQ, the first one of the year so we had to buy a new bbq as our other was literally on it's last legs.
On Monday we had 11 plus 4 grand-kids to dinner, we all just about managed to fit around the table - phew. Roast Turkey plus trimmings on the menu, topped off with homemade Banoffe pie, yes the diet went out the window for the weekend - well someone had to eat the Easter eggs didn't they! 🤣
There's now a stint of birthdays to celebrate which started with my daughter's on Tuesday, followed closely by daughter-in-law's, hubby's and then SIL. Then I have a bit of a break until the next batch.
So back to my Style Steal. What do you think to wearing a green dress to a wedding? My mum keeps telling me it's unlucky to wear green to a wedding, but I couldn't resist this beauty I picked up in M & S a few months ago. Emerald green isn't a colour I wear very much of, but always think it suits my colouring - dark hair & hazel eyes - what are your thoughts?

MummaB - Style Steal!
Hi there, ready to face another week?
Having had a rather different weekend from the normal, I'm looking forward to getting my week back on track - the reason being hubby has been away to Dublin, helping the Stag celebrate his last weekend of freedom as they say! You can catch where the hens went here!
It's like having my arm cut off not having hubby at home. The children were around some of the time, but it's just not the same as we do so much together. Missing him - an understatement!
When looking at other fantastic blogs I follow, I noticed more and more outfits that I'd love to wear & realised I could re-create many of them with clothes I already have in my possession, maybe having only to buy one or two extra pieces to complete a 'copy'!
I've decided that on the 3rd Thursday of each month I'll be featuring a Style Steal, copying another bloggers look.
First up has to be the delightful Catherine from Not dressed as lamb winner of the UK Blog Awards for fashion & beauty 2017.
She encourages women to wear what they want and look fabulous doing it. Winning many accolades for her high street picks and individual style, along with blog post featuring health, beauty and fitness issues.
Catherine's blog, is a go-to, up-to-date, informative site for the over 40's, & many people including me love to visit.
This outfit got me thinking ...
I had red linen trousers somewhere in the wardrobe along with my ever faithful cream sparkly baseball trainers I was half way there. The ace up my sleeve this dainty lace top all the way from Spain, on my earlier visit to L'Escala.
Having a double lace layer, see-through in places, with a discrete covered in section in just the right area. With a pleasing scalloped edge on both the sleeve and the hem, the exquisite detailing married with the cream colour makes this beauty timeless and functional, therefore it'll be winner with so many of my outfits in the future. Be prepared to see this darling again and again!
How about the cute flower pattern in the lace - isn't it pretty?
I took my black Osprey cross-over bag to complete my style copy - the only thing needed was a hat, well truth be told I don't own one. I've planned to get one, but haven't seen any I really like, so if you could use your own imagination I'll be very thankful. 😜
Esther Ruby took the photographs in a local play park. This a short drive away and the first time I've visited for about forty years! Needless to say it looks very different from what I remember.
This play park not only caters for young children but older youths too. When we arrived Esther made a bee line for the zip wire she spotted - having a little ride, enjoying every minute - shame no photos!
Not to be outdone MummaB had to get in one the act having a go too, except I couldn't get off it - literally!
We set about taking photos in the park, being careful not to include any kids!
Fortunately finishing just in time, because we were swarmed by a class of school children on a day trip - obviously letting off steam in the play area. They were everywhere and would definitely have been photobombing my shots! Ha ha.
Have you ever stolen a style? Would love to hear what yours would be.
Hope you'll join me next month to see who's style I've 'copied'.
So until Monday, thanks for stopping by.
Many thanks Esther Ruby for your super photos. X
Bye bye

Eva Trends cotton & lace dress - #chicandstylish #linkup
Hello and welcome to the blog.
What's happening in your world?
Still enjoying some warm weather here in the UK, honestly I don't know what to wear from one day to the next! Yesterday I opted for white three quarter jeans and a sleeveless top, but felt slightly out of place because everyone had jumpers and dark jeans on, yuck! Today opting for my stripy wide leg ankle swingers from H & M (recently reduced to £12 & they actually look great) and a tee shirt with my denim jacket, but I felt slightly chilly - please mother nature make up your mind!
Last week was such a busy one, with an even busier weekend, so this week it's been nice to slow down slightly, catch my thoughts & do a bit of day-dreaming. I'm dreaming about my next holiday - we've booked to go back to Abu Dhabi with the same 6 friends and I literally can not wait!!! In my mind I'm perusing what dresses to take with me, along with everything else I might need, swimsuit, day dresses, something practical and respectable for days out & trips to the mall. This is where my last piece from Eva Trends comes up trumps.
Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.

For the second time this month I decided to step away for my usual look and feature another smock style dress from Eva Trends. With some mixed feedback about the last dress, I'm not sure this is a style I'll go for again. It's not really making me feel confident, but I love the look of the dress especially the block of lace on the hem, so what do you all think? Will it make the cut and be added to the suitcase … 🤔

Style steal......
Hi there,
Yes today I'm ashamed to say I stole something ..... hold on before you call the police I actually stole an idea from a fellow blogger.
The gorgeous Bev from Irismaystyle had me "copy catting" her style. Her blog is so inspiring and I'm pleased I found it.
The particular look I've copied today is quite a simple style, but looks stunning - I'm hoping I too have done it justice. She wore, white drop crotch trousers with a v neck tunic in a super blush pink colour, these along with some grey ankle boots, turned the three components into a stylish outfit.
I've opted white three-quarter length jeans, along with my subtle pink/peach blouse, this has long sleeves that I've turned over a few times, a 'grand-dad' style collar and a blouson effect that had elastic at the front to sit at the right level and a long back scoop that hung covering my behind - perfect.
I choose to wear my gorgeous grey wedge lace up sandals that I wore at a recent wedding see Here
I know they weren't the grey boots Bev wore, however I felt that maybe I could be forgiven for opting for sandals in this weather.
The Jaeger grey bag came out to play today, befitting the stylish outfit I've chosen, (with the help of fellow blogger Bev).
My stunning Jaeger bag is a fabulous fixture in my bag selection, with handles that are long enough to pull over my shoulder, but short enough to hold or hang over my arm. Two zips across the top makes for easy access inside to the various zips and pockets.
So how do you like my style steal? Have you stolen a style from a fellow blogger? I'd love to see it if you have.
Until tomorrow ....X

Throw back Thursday - Sharing my Dresses.
Morning, how are you?
All good here with this over fifty fashion blogger. Getting prepared for my week away, so trying (not very well) to get on top of the washing and ironing. Sorting out what to take, what I need and what frivolous additions I can get away with (baggage weight and space permitting)!
I know to add a couple of pashminas or scarfs - they seem to be top of the list for being respectful, plus a couple of swimsuits, shorts and tops, oh and a few dresses & jumpsuits then the rest will have to follow as I start packing.
So I thought I'd take you on a little trip down memory lane to visit some of my favourite outfits from the past few months.

April Review.
Morning my lovely friends.
All good here in the Mummab household, the first stint of birthdays have been and the next are just around the corner - mine included, although I'm sure it will be a very different celebration than normal!
You might have seen my new series last month - my March Review re-visited some of the previous months posts and today I'm sharing the second one - my April Review.
April was a mixed bag really, some of my photos were taken prior to lock-down and the others were taken by my daughters. I'm so lucky to have my eldest daughter and her family staying with me, but admit to having a VERY busy house so blogging has taken a bit of a back seat if I'm honest.
The latter part of the month I've been sharing more laid-back styles, but at the beginning of the month I was showing off a stunning dress I picked up in our local Debenhams closing down sale. It's a stylish and fancy black lace dress with rivets and gold rings, but I think I'll let the dress speak for it's self.

Leopard Print with Green?
Hello lovelies, how are you all?
How's you week been? I have to say mine has been a mixed bag, back to my keep fit and dancing classes - whoopee, but also catching up on my washing and ironing too - what a bore!
So glad the weather has got warmer, we nearly reached double figures when the photos were taken - woo!, therefore jacket weather! Is that a fluke, are we getting another bout of cold weather? No thank you we don't want more beasts from the east arriving, I want to break out the spring wardrobe - especially my peep toe booties that I bought towards the end of last season, having seen some lucky ladies in hotter climbs donning there's I want to wear mine now!
Trying out a new combination today, how about green with leopard print? I was looking on Pinterest and found a few inspiring outfits with said green and leopard. I wanted to try it out.
I 'found' this skirt in my mum's wardrobe & wore it with her stylish blouse the other day. It dates back from the 80's, so fits nicely on the waist, which is quite flattering as it holds everything in!
.
I started with the skirt & leopard scarf, then following my friend Anna's advice I threw some pieces on the bed to see what would work, hey presto this is what emerged!
What do you reckon?
