Style not Age Share Summer Whites.

Hello and welcome to my blog.
Good to have you here my friends.

I’m back after a couple of days in Amiens with David and our good friends. We were celebrating all their 60th birthdays. They took David and me away to the Isle of Wight last year so it was our turn to surprise them!
I’ll do a dedicated post for my trip so you can hear all about it but I’ll also post on IG if you’re interested in the meantime.

It’s the last Monday of May, yeah crazy I know, so it’s time to see what the ladies from Style not Age have been up to. Our monthly challenge was set by Anna and it’s perfect  for the new season as it’s all about our …

February Review.

Hello and welcome to the blog.
I'm thrilled you could make it today!

What have you been up to over the past week?

It's been full steam ahead for my new build with floor joists being fitted at the weekend along with the steel beams.  It's really starting to take shape now, and the rooms downstairs are almost visible, with a bit of imagination and a lot of thought!  David has been working hard on this particular part of the build with the help of some of the family.  I've been trying to do my 'bit' by making drinks and sandwiches at every opportunity.
Sunday was as usual family day.  Some of the family came round for a pork roast.  Not something I'd usually pick, but I felt this might make a nice change and it certainly did.  I put some carrots, onions and apple underneath the joint and poured a good amount of cider into the roasting tin which worked a treat keeping the meat moist and the crackling crunchy and made excellent gravy.

As it's the first Monday of the month I'm sharing what I blogged about last month for my ...
February Review.

At the start of the month I was showing off a very versatile shirt dress that's pattern is one of my favourites to wear, yes it's leopard print.
I found this beauty in the M & S sale for a bargain price of £18.  You can find out all about my purchase friendly purchase over here.

Style Not Age have it Buttoned Up!

Morning my friends.
How are you?

Another weekend that flew by.  Out dancing on Friday night and we finished learning the Quickstep.  It was very fast too and I'm pleased I managed to get all the steps in the right order at the right time - phew!  I'm going to invest in some new dancing shoes in the next week or so, as the pair I've got were quite a cheap and aren't offering any kind of support around my foot, then I'm suffering with sore feet in the following days.

Saturday evening I went out to a friends house.  David and I went for dinner with some other friends and it was good to catch up and chat over home cooked burgers and a few glasses of fizz.  I have to say Sunday was slow, even after a lay-in I felt quite jaded and welcomed the fact that I'd already finished the bulk of today's blog post.
I hope you had a fun weekend and enjoyed some nice weather wherever you are in the world.  I've been thinking about spring styles and have a couple of new pieces to share with you soon. Sad to say I've not been in town so haven't seen any new styles 'up close and personal', but I'm planning on a trip soon and hope the stores will be bursting with new ideas, colours and fashions - have you bought anything new recently?

Today, being the last Monday of the month welcome's the Style Not Age collective.  In case you don't know what we're all about, me and four friends tackle a prompt set by one of us each month and produce unique looks promoting our own individual flair & style.

This month our instigator was Gail, she picked Buttoned Up & I have to admit it had me stumped!
I didn't get this one under my belt until late last week when I finally decided on these cotton trousers!

Mother's Day Ideas - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Morning my friends.
How are you?
After my busy weekend it's been nice to have a quieter week.  I've been to the gym and apart from that I've basically stayed at home doing 'catching up bits', a bit of ironing and generally tidying up - it's been quite therapeutic really! I'm not out at the weekend so it'll be good to have a takeaway and watch an exciting film or two.  I do have a ballet exam on Saturday afternoon, but that will only be about a quarter of an hour and will be over in a flash!

We do have another special day emerging on the horizon though as the weekend after hosts Mother's Day.  I try to combine being with the children with seeing my mum, we either go out for a meal or have a roast at home with everyone giving a helping hand - not sure what the plan will be this year, but fingers crossed I wont have to cook ... ha ha.

I'm always a very lucky lady on special days like this and every year I get beautiful cards, lovely messages and thoughtful gifts, so today I thought it might be helpful to share some ideas of what to buy the special women in your life.

Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.
