Styling my Pink & Gold Trainers 3 Ways.

Good morning.
How are you?

Another weekend that’s flown by. The kids are back to school and pre-school and we’re getting back to normal service - I say we, but I’ve not really had that much change seeing as my kids are all grown up.

On Saturday I helped Sophie - Little Berry Bakes on her cake stall. It’s the third one she’s done and still very much a learning curve and although she didn’t ’sell out’ she did really well and yesterday continued to sell boxes of her sumptuous goodies to lots of lucky customers - yea I bagged a delicious chocolate cupcake that was truly divine! Made myself feel quite sick eating it all!!!

I’m meeting a friend in London today, which I’ll share with you soon but if you have a look on my IG stories you can get a sneak peak. I’m catching the train, so I’ll have an hour or so to gather my thought and do some prep for future blogs. What have you got planned today?

If you follow me on IG you’ll have seen I was recently invited to Embassy London’s shop in Canterbury to view the new AW25 collection. I took Sophie along with me and we spent a lovely couple of hours perusing the latest stunners for the new collection and I even came home with this stunning pair of trainers.

Chanel Style Cardigan - Chic & Stylish Linkup

Hello and welcome to Mummabstylish.
How’s your week going?

Out shopping later and I’m excited to see what the stores are offering now. Is there going to be any Spring styles I wonder. I’ve not bought much over the past few weeks but the couple of bits I have found have been great additions. My leopard coat has been a wonderful choice, did you see it here? These boots have been incredibly versatile, because they have a low heel which makes them comfortable to wear, so my skirts and dresses have been making an early comeback since I bought them in the sale for £12!!
Now for some of you tomorrow might be a special day. If you don’t know it’s Valentine’s Day. A day of declaring your love for someone and giving gifts and cards to prove that!  I must say it’s not a day David and I celebrate, I rather think it’s a money making hype that the industry takes full advantage of! We treat every day as a special day and don’t need one particular day to prove how much we love each other. It’s the little things that mean more in my mind, the cup of tea in bed, the cooked dinners, getting up for work each day when I spend the day at home, the list goes on. So don’t feel bad if you don’t enjoy the day, likewise if you do participate I hope you have a wonderful day with your loved one. ❤️

Here’s my casual outfit I wore yesterday and I hope you enjoy the twist!

So as you well know a new month means we say goodbye to the last one but it’s nice to look back on November & marvel at some of the amazing fashion trends I shared with you. ❤️

New Season Essentials from Bonmarche.

Good morning my friends.
Seems we're flying through August aren't we!

After hectic weeks It's been good to slow down and enjoy a quieter weekend. I had Max on Saturday and introduced him to the Peter Rabbit film. It’s all about the children’s story written by Beatrix Potter featuring the fictional character Peter and his family and shares all the funny antics they get up to. Peter is voiced by James Corden, whose wit and personality shines through - do watch it with your kids, grandkids or just watch it alone, it’s a fun one to see - I guarantee you’ll love it.
Max was smitten and nearly watched it all the way through! I was in my element too as I really enjoy watching kids films.

Sunday we had a small BBQ nothing fancy but it was good. My daughter prepared most of the food, with the help of my other daughter and my son was in charge of bbq-ing so I could sit back and relax and then enjoy some delicious food making the most of the warmer albeit cloudy weather by sitting in the garden - I’m not sure how long that’ll be happening eh! I’ve also noticed the thing I hate! The nights are starting to draw in! Winter will be upon us before we know it! Urgh!

As promised on Thursday today I'm sharing some new in pieces from Bonmarche.

Style Not Age Wear Jeans & Jewels.

Morning everyone.
How’s you month …. gone?
Yes nearly November, isn’t it scary how fast the months go by!

I’ve had a few days of celebrations with a friends Afternoon Tea on Friday, followed by dancing where I finished off learning the Tango and very proud of myself I must say! I’ll pop a story up on IG so you can see the result - SCD here I come. 😂

Saturday was a lazy day, well after the grandkids left it was (I had three of them at home whilst my daughter took one of the boys to his football match, proud to say they won 2 -1 and both goals were scored by Freddie). I actually relaxed in front of the telly in the afternoon prior to getting ready for my evening out.  Do you remember me saying it’s my mum’s birthday dinner tonight? It’s her birthday today and she’s 90! Yes what a milestone that is! She really doesn’t look her age and for that matter doesn’t act her age either. She’s up-to-date with all the latest technology, has Facebook and Instagram and still drives! I’m so proud of everything she’s achieved in her lifetime from travelling around the world in her 20’s, living in Australia, returning home to get married, bringing up my sister and I alone after divorcing my father and managing a home and family whilst working a full time job. She found happiness in my step-father who took us on and gave us a wonderful life where upon moving to a new house and area I eventually met and married my husband. So I’m a firm believer that most things happen for a reason. Mum’s are very special people and mine is always there to help and support, give guidance and love whenever I or any of the family need it. So tonight will be a VERY special occasion and I’m excited to see how it pans out. I’ll share in the next week or so the full events and what I wore (yes the blue dress arrived, fitted and looked great on).

Sunday was another busy day with a a get together for my daughter’s birthday meal. We all decided on tapas and all prepared a dish to celebrate at my house. She’s out on her actual birthday (today) so it was good to enjoy most of the family having fun and tucking into some seriously delicious food.
It’s starting to get exciting as we nearer the Christmas period isn’t it and I’m already thinking of my decorations and tree, I’ll be adding to them for sure as the weeks go by and am wanting some outside decorations this year, any ideas that aren’t too big and costly? Anyway back to the matter in hand today - the end of the month can only mean one thing.

It’s time to say hello to my friends from Style Not Age for October’s challenge!

Anna stepped up to the plate and gave us the title …

Hotter Suede Boots - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Morning my friends.
How's it going?

The spate of birthdays has arrived for Mummab!  There's two this month, then six next month followed by three in May, and that's only immediate family!  It's an expensive few months, with lots of fizz and party cake to get through ... I know I'll do anything for the cause!

I went to a couple of shops yesterday whilst birthday present shopping and one in particular wowed me with their offerings.  I abstained though and didn't buy anything ... err well I did buy a sports top as the few I have are a bit tight on me.  The one I found was in the Matalan sale and will work really well for my gym classes, and for only £4.50 I couldn't think of a reason not to!

We had a fun evening last night celebrating my youngest's (grand-daughters) birthday, she's now one and really is a little treasure.  She's been walking since she was 8 months so the little wooden pram I bought her was much appreciated.  She scooted around with a little soft doll and toy doggy on board, I felt that was a good gift for her.  He other grand-daughters birthday on Friday and I'm joining them on a visit to The Rare Breeds Centre which is just outside Ashford, but I'm praying the weather will be nice to us and not be cold or snowy.  Stay tuned for that one!

With warmth at the top of my list at the moment, these snuggly boots arrived at just the right time.  Do read on to find out all about these stylish little ankle boots from Hotter Shoes.

Ski Trip to Les Arcs - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Hi there,
Thanks for joining me today and big apologies for no post on Monday.
I hold my hands up to just being lazy and not getting back into it after returning from skiing.

Skiing, as I imagined, came and went so quickly - I blinked and was back home again with all the washing to contend with.  That's the worst thing about going away isn't it, coming home to all the laundry!  Read on to find out all about my week in The Alps, it might even tempt you to go!

Silver lining to returning from my trip was the arrival of the brick layers who started on our new build.
For those of you who don't know, David and I bought the property we live in to knock it down and re build two new houses on the plot - it's huge and you might have often read about me moaning that there's so much grass to cut!  So the second house is started and you can see some piccys on my IG account Mummabbuilds.  Our new house will be started when this one is finished, but I don't know when that will be! Ha ha.

Bright Pink Shirt Love - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Hello my friends.
How you doing?
Not much to report here, I'm staying pretty quiet until my skiing trip with only going to classes and a couple of shops.  I don't need to replace any clothing for skiing, and have enough casual bits to take with me so I don't need anything new.  The only thing I wanted to get is a pair of white boots.  I ordered some from River Island which came and are lovely, the only problem is that they are a little bit too big - guess what?  Smaller size is out of stock - typical!  I'm hoping they might be back on in time to get them and go away!

Whilst I was looking in town the other week I did come across this stunning blouse from Primark.
Silky satin tops are on trend at the moment, and you simply can't go wrong with a plain blouse - especially when it's a delicious colour like this!

A Day out in London in Bonmarche.

Hiya, how are you?
I've had a busy few days over the weekend and have thoroughly enjoyed myself.
Friday the usual dancing into the weekend finishing off the waltz I started learning the week before.  As a young child I loved watching Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers dancing across a huge stage with fabulous backdrops and often wished I could dance like they did.  I went on to learn ballet, tap and modern dancing and loved every minute of it.  I was involved in shows and taking exams, but rarely entered any competitions.  Since beginning Ballroom dancing a few years ago I've wished I'd have learnt earlier than just over fifty, so I'm having to make up for it now and look forward to Friday evenings with excitement.
Saturday night hubby and I got to enjoy a long awaited Christmas present from the kids.  We had a voucher to sample the tasty cuisine at The Fordwich Arms which is not too far from us. Do have a look at this post to see what we ate!

Sunday was spent in London.  My husband and SIL went to watch football at Arsenal - not something my daughter and I really enjoy so we spent a few lovely hours shopping and having a snack.  We did the usual Covent Garden and surrounding area, and had wanted to see a show but the times didn't fit for us.  It was nice to just talk about all sorts - her baby is due in November & when she finishes work I'm sure we'll have a bit more time to catch up before baby arrives - then she won't have time to think let alone talk eh!

I opted for comfort over a dressy dress, I would have preferred to flounce around in one of my buffet dresses, but the weather hinted at rain (which we got) so my jeans and trainers were a more suitable substitute.

Mom Jeans - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Morning my friends.
How are you all doing?
Seems crazy to think we had some "almost" nice weather at the beginning of the week, but it's so cold now, with a biting wind and grey skies!
I met up with a friend for coffee and a scone yesterday - it was a very chilly walk along the beach and we both welcomed the sheltered area where we sat, ate, drank and chatted.  We decided that when we are allowed to enter premises to have a meal or a drink Mother Nature will be there sticking two fingers up as we'll be sweltering in the heat and clambering for outdoor tables - lol.
Anyhow ... this is what I wore, basically I just changed to skinny jeans and ugg boots (boy did I need them)!

Tan Boots from Lotus Shoes.

Morning my lovelies.
How you all doing?
Are you ready?  Well that's the big question on everyone's lips, but we still have a few days don't we, so no need to worry. 😁
You know the story, you've heard it all before but I HAD planned to have everything done by now - BUT I am nearly there - honestly.
You may remember I've been doing up the spare room!  All the decorating is finished, curtains are up, carpet is down and I've a statement piece waiting to share with you all ..... AND I've managed to order the Ikea wardrobe and Billy Bookcase I've been after.  It's being delivered on 22nd, and I'm anticipating they might be built, in place and filled by Christmas. 🤞
Which is just as well because my footwear collection is getting bigger by the week.  I'm sharing another pair of boots from Lotus Shoes with you today - a fabulous little bootie with a serving of leopard print on the side.

My Wardrobe Staple - Jeans.

Hi there my friends.
Have you survived Storm Dennis?  It's been a a bit of a washout weekend, the highlight being a family birthday party on Saturday evening and Sunday dinner with my daughter at her house.
As usual Saturday night was a brilliant evening with our family and friends. They have a jukebox which always attracts a lot of attention - it's a push button style that uses actual 45's records and is from the 1970's.  We played songs from the 80's from Abba, Barry Manilow & The Jacksons and also older songs from the 60's and 70's.  They also have one that's wall hung that's a much later style and works through a computer, there are hundreds of tunes from all genres which is incredible for someone like me who likes a mixed bag!  Anyone who likes the sound of having music played on a jukebox I've checked out this one on Amazon which is a really modern up-to-date model, it'll complete your bar or function room with retro style & amazing choices of thousands of songs at the click of a button.

Esther and I took full advantage of Friday's weather and popped out to take photos. The weather was glorious with not a hint of rain & only a slight breeze, shame it changed so dramatically the next day!  We have such fun when we get together which is no surprise that her mum is my best friend.  Which has given me a thought, watch this space for a feature about her and my sister-in-law!
