Good to have you join me today, bet you wished you could join me on the island of Rhodes too because that's where I am today and for the rest of the week!

I've been to Rhodes three times before, once with my sister, once with the family when they were young and 36 years ago on my honeymoon!

I will have two holiday's to share with you when the days become less hectic.  I don't know why my life is so busy at the moment!

Until then, shall I show you one of my outfits for both holidays?  I fell for this jumpsuit big time and adore how it looks.

Morning my lovelies.
What horrible weather to wake up to!  Windy and rainy, so glad I've not got to go out in it! Hope it will clear by the time I pop to the shops later!
What have you been up to this weekend?  Another whirl-wind for me.  Out dancing on Friday evening, catching up with hubby for a few drinks in the local.  Saturday I collected a few bits to bake for the Christening, then had my nails done in a striking bright red for our friends party that night.
Sunday I managed to get up early (really didn't want to after the copious amount of Prosecco I'd consumed) to bake what I was taking to the Christening.  Didn't seem that much but two hours later I have five platters of Sausage Rolls, Chicken Nuggets, Cocktail Sausages, Pork Pies, Spring Rolls, homemade Rocky Road & Profiteroles.  I hastily got ready in the dress I'd bought to match some elegant shoes I've been sent and will share with you soon, then we were off for the 12.00 Christening.
We had a lovely afternoon celebrating my grandson's special day and came home to a take out curry that I'd been longing for.  Has to be one of my most favourite dishes, but don't seem to have had an Indian for quite a few weeks and really savoured it!  Chicken Patia is my chosen love, what's yours?

So I'm digressing, it's the Third Monday of the month, so after missing last months edition, I best get started on this one.

Morning my lovely friends.
How's the over fifties doing?  In fact how are you all doing?
You may have seen my IG stories a few days ago and seen I've just come back from Rome. So you might have watched my antics around the beautiful city.
Today I wanted to share the wonderful days I spent there.  Four other couples joined hubby and me for our four day escape & we made some excellent memories visiting many of the landmarks and special places Rome has to offer.  Today I'll share what we did and what we saw - hope you enjoy joining me.
We booked separate flights, accommodation and transfers, which worked out a better deal for us.  Our flights with Easy Jet were as smooth as you like and we arrived after the 2 hour and 5 minute flight full up with breakfast and a cheeky bottle of Prosecco (small one - lol) excited with anticipation of the ensuing days.

Jaeger on a Thursday?

Hello from MummaB ......

Whilst it's not out of the realms of reality to have Jaeger on a Thursday, this Jaeger is a stunning top & not a drink!

Half way through summer and some days are feeling decidedly more like Winter!  We never seem to get a happy medium here in the UK, it's either stifling hot or freezing cold. Never knowing whether to wear a strappy top and cropped jeans or long trousers, cardigan & a rain mac!

When the photos were taken a few weeks ago it was a quite hot - so with our changeable weather in mind I chose to wear my years old M & S white linen trousers, M & S have similar here. 
The linen palazzo trousers are cool enough to wear in hot weather, whilst still keeping my legs warm from the inconsistent windy weather!
Debuting this gorgeous Jaeger cotton mix top, I received from my sister for my birthday prezzie.  She knows my style really well and we tend to have similar likes and dislikes - we often love what each other wears, then subsequently by something exactly the same or similar.
So getting back to the top - the white with black leaf design top is sleeveless with a double frill running down the side - which is a statement detail that I find very appealing. 
Jaeger have been around for many years and produce effortlessly stylish clothing for both women and men.  The excellent quality shines through in garments for work and play without the designer price tags.  Jaeger you really are 'the bomb'!
Black and white has always been a winning combination in my eyes and I never get tired of wearing it.

Are you a fan of linen trousers?  I've owned a few over the years and it does pay to spend a little bit more to get better quality.  Cheaper linen trousers have a tendency to stretch when being worn!  Who wants baggy, stretched clothes?
But remember linen never, ever goes out of style, so buy those trousers, dresses and shirts. You will always have something to wear in your wardrobe for any occasion. 
Linen can be dressed up or dress it down with some basic accessories, for example a stunning necklace over a dress for an evening out or a silky scarf and straw hat paired with linen trousers and flats for an afternoon shopping.

Gingham Cropped Trousers with Three Tops.

Hello fellow bloggers, how's it going?
Another great weekend for MummaB'. 
Up to the big British City on Saturday - such a fun, lively day in the capital, one word  ... Prosecco!
Sunday being rather the opposite, curled up on the sofa - catching up on some TV and my water in-take!
The reason for our visit to London was my hubby's Christmas present, yes you heard correct Christmas!
You can Imagine how difficult it has been to arrange a date when eight people are free on the same day, so last Saturday was the first opportunity for me, hubby and six of our friends to travel up to London Town for Gin Tasting! 
Heading over to Whistling Shop in Shoreditch to sample gin, find out about its origins and how it's made.  En-route visiting a traditional Pie and Mash shop, a couple of bars and a fabulous tea and cake stop - aptly named Cake Hole Café. 
Here I scoffed a mouthwatering cream tea, along with endless cups of the hot beverage, in a cup and saucer from a teapot! - tea tastes so much better from china tea cups and brewed in a teapot don't you think?

Here's the casual outfit I wore on Saturday,  which was basic, comfortable and just the job for a day in big city.  Gingham cropped trousers, paired with white peplum hem tee shirt & I added my pretty necklace and matching bracelet along with my Zara metallic silver bag and gold espadrilles to my ensemble.  As we made our way to our destination I saw this graffiti wall where hubby took this photo, there's nothing like this locally so wanted to include the artwork in today's post.

Honestly, I could of eaten another of these super warm scones, cream & jam, not to mention any of the cakes that were on offer.

The cropped gingham trousers I've had for a while now, are from Dorothy Perkins & fit me like a glove.  Black & white can be paired with loads of colours thus prompting me to try out these three looks.  Which one do you prefer? 

Beginning with the obvious white, which is my favourite.   I picked up this cotton top from Matalan.  I do like lace and the cotton cut-out detail reminded me of giant lace.  This was on the sleeves, across the neckline and round the bottom of the top - or the top of the bottom! Lol.  It could also be worn as a dress if you've got the legs for it - lol.

Feeling more able to match different coloured accessories now-a-days, so the black ankle sandals  worked well with the yellow clutch bag.

Are you liking the blast of colour - lemon?   Since starting blogging and reading fashion blogs from all age groups I've grasped that you don't HAVE to match your accessories.  Different colours, tones and textures can all work.  This will add depth and interest to an outfit, but I'm just a novice on this wave length and often still match my accessories, however it has given me a wider choice in what I can pick!  You may have seen this Primark clutch before here.

Look Number 2, how about the yellow camisole top?  This is from Asda and is a super fit,  I love the wide straps, along with the double layer effect.  This little cami is a wardrobe staple, well worth buying in as many colours as the shop has, because they mix & match, can be worn alone or with layers.  Let's hope they've got other colours because for £5 this is a bargain top.

Finally number three, my least favourite!  Gingham with red surely is a winner - right?  Upon reflection I wished I'd worn a red tee shirt underneath my red cardi and not the chosen white one.  It looks dis-jointed, breaking the fluidity of what could be a stylish outfit.  I'll be trying the red tee shirt soon and see if it looks better - I'll keep you informed.

My black ankle strap sandals are from Faith at Debenhams.  A girl can never have enough black sandals and I was smitten with these as they're very stylish and flattering too.  I picked them up in the half price sale a few weeks ago, well if I'm truthful I spent quite a chunk of my birthday money on sandals that day!

Until Thursday It's been fabulous, and I hope you'll pop back then to see another exciting feature that's in the pipe-line.  I'm super happy with it and can't wait to share with you all.
