A Bonmarche Maxi Skirt with Black and Red - #Chiandstylish #LINKUP

Hello and welcome to the blog.
How are you all doing?
Hasn't the weather been awful!  I admit to wet weather being the worst for me, everything gets so damp doesn't it!  Well after the dry Summer we've had in the UK it's no surprise we're having these downpours.  As I sit here on my computer I'm reluctant to go and do anything, I certainly believe the sun has a positive effect on our bodies, and I'm missing the rays on my skin - don't you agree?

Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.

I've been thinking of adding a new skirt into my wardrobe so when Bonmarche gifted me some items this skirt had to be included.

It's got an ever comfy elastic waistband which is always a godsend for me.  I like to have a little extra room - especially when I'm out for lunch or at a party!  Maxi styles are also my favourites, I find them really flattering on and compliment my pear shape perfectly.  This has an unusual ditsy print* all over it comprising of red, white & wine dots over a predominantly black background.  It's a crinkle fabric that's going to be a winner in your wardrobe because it won't crease - what a good choice I made!

My skirt gets extra points for the variety of colours it holds, there's scope for so many pairings and my red roll neck jumper's going to make a great friend for this skirt. Yesterday I fancied my black jumper that has tiny silver balls over it - I've had this one for a few years and if I remember correctly bought it in H & M in Abu Dhabi.  Before I forget I want to mention the delightful frill on the bottom of the skirt, doesn't it make it a fun & fancy skirt that stands out from the crowd.

After wearing red earlier this week I wanted to keep the positivity flowing.  I popped on my cheerful red jacket to complete my outfit - such an easy to wear style and much more exciting than a dowdy black coat.  I'm going to try and include more colour to my black outfits, do tell me what you'd pair with this charming skirt.

Black accessories reinforced this look as a perfect Autumnal outfit.  My faithful slouch boots and textured bag were my go-to choice and I'm loving the enchanting outfit that emerged. X

All being well I'm off to London on Saturday, I've been invited to the Woman & Home Christmas Live event at County Hall and there's still time for you to get tickets.  Click the picture below for a link to buy tickets & to find out what's there! If you're going do look out for me, I might be the one in red!  X

  7. I really like the pretty hem at the bottom of the skirt! And the print is perfect to add color on a cold or rainy day. I ordered a maxi that is coming in tomorrow that I hope to style for winter. I might need tights under though as it is very light and has a high slit .
