Co-ord from Nomads & Espadrilles from Lotus.

Morning everyone.
How are you doing?

I'm doing well and feeling in such a happy mood.  I've had a super weekend, been to the gym, am getting into the holiday mode with my trip to Majorca which is only a couple of weeks away and the sun is shining today!  Maybe my outfit of yellow and white last week worked it's magic and the weather is going to be nice!
On Saturday after working in the garden, David and I went out with our friends to a lovely restaurant near us.  The views from The Crescent Turner were amazing and all the staff were really friendly (my friend's daughter works there and really did spoil us).  There was a wedding being celebrated in the teepee they have up.  It all looked and sounded charming, but we were all surprised to see the bride sitting on her own eating some chips and sandwiches, so we invited her to our table and not sit on her own! We had a lovely chat about her day and telling her how long we'd been married etc ... and then off she went back to celebrate her wedding with her friends and family! It was quite bizarre!

Sunday we had a BBQ, the weather, still playing fair, was lovely to sit in and we took full advantage of the garden to enjoy the afternoon.  Monday has come around way to soon, which is why this post is so late coming out ... do forgive me my friends. X

Today's outfit just seemed to fall into place!  I received this co-ord from Nomads Clothing and the sandals from Lotus shoes and they just seemed to click with each other.

Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.

Let's start with the cor-ord, also know as a two piece.  I'm such a fan of one piece dressing and seldom look at co-ords, however I love how this looked so decided to overlook that it goes against my ideals and chose this skirt* and top from the Nomads clothing site.  The background of this unusual design is predominantly khaki which is a little different for me to chose but I really liked the whole pattern.  It has lines of black and off white with circles and strokes of red, yellow and rust.  I'm loving the skirt as it has an easy to wear elastic waist band that has shirring across it.  I can confirm It's going to a a popular choice for me holiday, especially as I'm All Inclusive!  It's a great length and is fully lined and guess what ... it has pockets, I love a dress or skirt with pockets, do you?  The good thing about this smock style skirt is that I found it came up a bit big so I opted for a small than normal size than I would normally chose and it felt just right!

The matching vest top* is a regular box style that has a v neckline & that can be neatly tucked into the skirt, hung over the top or cinched in with a belt.  You can see I opted for a thick tan belt which covered the waist and I tucked the top into it and pulled it over to create a blouson effect - I find this a really flattering way to style clothes as it balances out the whole look.  I stayed with my usual size for this which fitted perfectly.

It's a great length and is fully lined and guess what ... it has pockets, I love a dress or skirt with pockets, do you?

Buying a cor-ord is also a brilliant way to get value for money as both items can be teamed with other pieces thus giving you extra wear - I plan to pop the top over jeans and add a jumper to the skirt soon.

Did you spot my lovely espadrilles?  These are some of the best styles to wear in Summer, they look great and are so comfortable, I always have a couple of pairs on the go each year.  I think these orange ones, called Antonella,* are charming and I'm so pleased they look brilliant with my outfit today.  Available in navy, khaki and grey all would work well in my wardrobe, but do let me know what colour you'd choose.  These fit true to size & my normal size is 6.5 but the 6 is ample for me.  They have a nice wedge which is a good height and the sturdy strap keeps them beautifully in place, I'm chuffed with them. X

Both bag and necklace have been around for a while and both came from one of my favourite stores Matalan - they have some amazing bargains in there, do you shop in there?

Many thanks for joining me today, I hope I've given you some inspiration for your summer choices.
Catch you again on Thursday when I'll be sharing my Father's Day guide.
Cheerio for now. X

  3. Oh, I envy you a holiday anywhere! We keep talking about it but never get round to actually doing anything about it! We are also knee deep in packing up our old house to move to the new one...but the builder doesn't think it will be ready when we thought...uh oh!

I love this look on you, Jacqui! You can really wear those rusty reds/oranges, and the wedges are a perfect accessory!

I wonder if the bride will remember you in years to come and relate that story to others!
