At Home With ... Carrie - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Good morning my lovely friends.
Hope you're all okay.
Don't forget to join the #Linkup today, I'm looking forward to seeing what you're all wearing.
I'm a rather elated Mummab today!  You see I'm actually going on holiday on Saturday and I'm so excited!  There's been lots of things to sort out, but it's finally happening, all I need to do is get packed and finish off my blog preparations - hooray!

I hope you're enjoying the At Home With ... series as much as I am, it's been great to find out a little more from our blogger friends.
I'm pleased to welcome another of my blogging pal from across the water today, a big hello and welcome to Carrie - Curly Crafty Mom Mummabstylish.

Before we get started I want to share an Autumnal look that I created from a Summer sale dress.
Layers are key for transitional outfits, and this is a perfect example of how to do it.  I have a long slip under the dress and popped on my vest top and boots to keep the look warmer.  I also wanted to add a long sleeve jumper under the dress too, but with the heating on indoors I was too hot!  Shame I rushed out to the shops like this because I did get a little bit cold by the time I got home.  I picked up the loose style dress in the Wallis sale, and it happens to fit right in for both Summer and Autumn dressing!

I'm going to jump right in with the questions for Carrie, so grab a cuppa and settle down for a fun read.

When and why did you start Curly Crafty Mom?
  • I started Curly Crafty Mom in 2008 after the birth of my second child, may daughter Autumn.  It was mainly a 'mom' blog that I shared with other mom's that I knew.  Later on, it turned into a DIY/Crafting blog and now it is more of a Lifestyle with a lot of fashion blog!

Do you have another job apart from the blog and bringing up children?
  • No, blogging is my only job right now!  I am blessed that I am able to work at home (on the blog) and still enjoy my kids after they get off school and on their school breaks.  I used to work in Marketing at a big chemical company for almost a decade before I became a SAHM 8 years ago!  Marketing is also what my Bachelor degree is in.  I think my past marketing skills have helped me a lot with blogging!

Where are you based?
  • I have lived in St. Louis, Missouri my entire life!  My husband and I always joke that we would love to move to the coast once he retires.

What's your favourite garment at the moment?
  • If i'm not going anywhere and staying home, I love my Zella leggings with a baggy top, such as a tunic, hoodie/sweatshirt or sweater.  Zella leggings are my fave!  Otherwise, I just received a b/w shacket on Jane.com that I am loving right now with black booties.

What's your favourite season and can you tell us why?

  • I really love the fall, because it brings cooler weather, beautiful leaves, ALL the layers, PSL's and Starbucks holiday drinks and picnics!  I really enjoy running and the fall makes running much easier with the cooler temps! :)

Do you have any training in fashion, and do you take your own photos?

  • I don't have any training in fashion, but I've always loved it!  My husband takes my outfit photos and we usually do it in our backyard that faces a large field (with 2 horses) and farm.  We always try to venture out for my outfit photos, but we have such limited time that most of them are taken in our back yard.  He has a special camera and lights that he uses and our neighbours always stare at us when we're taking them! Ha!

Have you and the family any pets?
  • Yes!  We have a lot of pets ... too many!  We have a Ragdoll and a calico cat.  Both of our cats are older and are sadly having health issues.  The Ragdoll has kidney disease and requires fluids and the calico has diabetes.  We also have 7 Guinea pigs!  We started with two Guinea pigs that we got from Petsmart and they were both supposed to be males!  Well my daughter names one of the males a girl name - Penelope! And, it turned our Penelope WAS a girl after all!  She gave birth to four baby Guinea pigs (under my mom's care) while we were at Disney.  We also took on our 7th Guinea pig a family friend.  Lastly, we have 2 frogs.  Yes, we have a lot of pets!

Have you met any blogger friends in real life, if so who might they be?
  • I've met Jill from Doused in Pink, who I do my Thursday Fashion Files link up with and I've also met Jodie from Jodie's Touch of Style while she was here for a shoe fashion show.  One other blogger I've me is Kellyann from This Blonde's Shopping Bag.  We met while I was on vacation in Orlando.  I've met several other local St. Louis bloggers, too!

Have you ever been to a fashion show, or have you been in a fashion show?
  • No!  I need to add that to my bucket list!

Who do you turn to for help with your blog?
  • My husband thankfully helps me with ALL of my blog problems!  He is very smart with all things that have to do with computers!

Many thanks for joining me today Carrie. X
