Faux Leather for the Style not Age ladies.

Hi there my lovelies.
Hope you're all safe and well.
Well I had a productive weekend with the lovely weather we had.  Managed to get out into the garden and do a bit of clearing whilst hubby and helpers shredded the branches we had chopped off the hedge.
I also cleared the tubs and pruned some bushes making it look a whole lot better and gave me a very positive feeling.  I'm hoping Boris will have some promising news tomorrow evening, but am not holding my breath for any major changes to our situation yet!
As it's the last Monday of February it means the ladies from Style not Age have been hard at work creating their outfits for my prompt ...
Faux Leather.

There's been a lot of faux leather outfits around recently and I've been eyeing them all up and wanting to copy them.  So I managed to find a gorgeous pair of black trousers in said faux leather and also some flattering culottes in a sumptuous shade of chocolate brown.  I don't have very many pieces in this colour and like the softer alternative to black.  Now the problem with not having much in this tone means also not having much to pair it with!  I flicked through my wardrobe and came up with a few ideas including a soft pale blue top and a high neck blouse - both I'll be sharing soon.  My eyes fell upon this combination and I slipped it on and immediately felt very classy.  But do let me know what you think about my faux leather combination. X

Before we meet my girls, I want to tell you about my outfit.
I've wanted to jump on the faux leather culotte band wagon for ages, but hadn't found the right ones.  How about chocolate brown as an alternative to black?  I'm smitten with them and am pleased they feel as good on as they look.  In the sale, which I love, for a stunning £14 - you can find the link to Very above.

I've not worn this top in quite a while, so when I hung my culottes next to it I was wowed!  Just look how well they go together - the brown pops in the sunflower seeds don't you think!  This is a few years old from Bonmarche and the neutral shades go with so much - makes me think of Summer days eh!

I brightened the whole look with an off white revere long coat from the New Look.  I was overjoyed to find this one in the sale a couple of weeks ago and when I saw it reduced to just over £20 I couldn't resist it - well this is going to be a versatile little number that will be worn and worn.  Have you found any bargains recently?  Talking of bargains I've also just bought some wide leg trousers in the M & S sale too.  They're tan and I've wanted a pair for ages - do watch out for them coming on the blog soon.

First up let's take a look at Gail - Is This Mutton.  Gail has brilliantly styled faux leather spanx with bright green accents and what a cool number it's made.  Love this shade of green and it's one I should try - I reckon it might suit me! 😉

Emma's take on the prompt is a winning look for sure. Her leather look sleeves add just the right touch to her chic and very wearable outfit. Catch all the details & more of her looks over on The Style Splash.

Take a peek at Anna's outfit. Comprising of two pre-loved items Anna you've created a wonderful faux themed look. You can find out the back story over on her blog Anna's Island Style.

Finally Hilda - Over the Hilda shares her faux leather jacket which is a gorgeous shade of berry!  It pairs with her old-style-back-in-fashion jeans.  A stylish new look for your old faithfuls Hilda. x

Do you like faux leather?  What do you have in your wardrobe that's faux leather?
Thanks for your presence on the blog today - love having you here my friends.
You can catch more from the Style not Age collective here last January, December November and October.
Bye for now. x

  4. Your trousers look amazing. I can see why you like them so much. I do like faux leather but I very particular about how it feels. I want it to be soft and comfortable to wear and I avoid items that are more stiff and less flexible.

  8. As you may have gathered Jacqui I'm not a big wearer of faux leather but I like it on others, and your chocolate culottes are stunners! I can imagine they would get a lot of wear, very versatile x

  9. I do love your chocolate brown culottes Jacqui as they make a change from the basic black leggings we all seem to own. Well done with this outfit - it's wonderfully classy which is a real feat for faux leather x

  11. Jacqui, I really like this edgy sophisticated look! The leather culottes are so good! I just had a pair of dark green faux leather leggings in my hand when I was out shopping the other day. But the faux leather leggings are not always flattering on me and since the fitting rooms were not opened, I left the pants there! Hmmm...now I wonder how many sales are lost because we can't try things on!
