Vandal Sandals & Mango Jeans.

Hi there my friends.
How's it going?
We are still in lock-down, and I'm wondering just when this will end!  Days are the same, with weekends feeling no different to mid-week.  The high-light of the day is working out what to have for dinner, my saving grace is having my grand-kids with me, they really do keep me on-the-ball - playing games, taking walks and now even taking photos, yes my little grand-daughter took today's photos for me!  Once their new house is ready I know I'm going to miss them so much and hope it's not before lock-down finishes as I've told them they won't be able to move out - lol.

While you'll still find me wearing jeans most days, I've been trying to dress them up a bit by adding a pretty top, some jewellery and a fancy pair of shoes or sandals.  So today I thought I'd share these new additions to my wardrobe - some denim culottes and some delicious sandals.  I've had my eye on the culottes for a while now, spotting them on a Facebook advert from Mango.  The light-wash jean is a heavy denim - the kind that has no stretch and therefore gives a nice structured hold, everything is kept in place seamlessly.
My sandals are from an exciting selection from Vandal Shoes.*   They offer a stylish assortment of wide fitting shoes, sandals  & slippers and some are available up to a triple E fit!

Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.

Let's talk comfort.  As I've gotten older my feet seem to have aged much quicker.  My feet often ache and really high shoes are only considered when the 'bar to car' occasion arises - lol.  I don't really like wearing totally flat shoes either I like to have some sort of heel and most definitely need a padded sole!  I wouldn't go as far as to say I have fallen arches, I just need support and find shoes with the added arch support a real winner.
I'm totally smitten with these beauties.  Take a look at the Ione - white/snake sandal* what's not to love?

The Ione sandal is available in sizes 3 - 8 AND have the half size option which is brilliant - many companies don't offer this which is really annoying.  The leather sandal has a flattering 35mm heel and also comes in five other colours - Ohh I love them all - what colour would you chose?  Price point is £75 however

White works with anything doesn't it!  These have the added bonus of snake print too.  I love a bit of bling so just adore the silver bar around the heel, they add that little bit extra.  Flowers are a pretty and feminine extra, just right for the girly girls.  Now with all these striking attributes you'd have thought it couldn't get any better, but hold on one minute there's a very impressive hidden gem that I bloody love!
Did you spot it?  Yes a clever little removable adjustable ankle strap!  Wow what a brilliant idea, two ways to wear these charming classics.

See the inside hook that is detachable, it's so easy to undo on both sides.  I was surprised they feel so good, you can't feel the hooks at all.

Quickly the sandals are turned into mules, I'd thoroughly recommend the Ione & I can't wait to wear mine out and about for a casual lunch date or drinks with friends.  These light and airy sandals will look just as nice with a floaty dress for strolling the shops - when they finally open!!!

So let's take a look at the rest of my outfit.  I feel the culottes maybe a little long for me, so I will be cutting a chunk off the bottom, I need to see a bit more leg I think.  Apart for that I love everything about them.  The lighter colour is handy for summer, when a whole host of tops can be paired with them.  As I mentioned above the heavy denim holds in the right place and feels comfortable to wear, you just know when a pair of jeans are right.  Fitting on the waist with loops for a belt and numerous pockets they're right up my street.  I was relieved to find they fitted perfectly, Mango has a size calculator which was very easy & worked really well.  I chose my usual size and had to fill in my weight, height and how my midriff looked (via a chart) and my size was confirmed!

More interest added with my Marks & Spencer knitted top that's got a super pretty scalloped hem and neck. It's a cute little white top that I wear quite often in the summer, it matches so well with skirts, trousers and jeans.  My aztec jacket came to play and always deserves a mention.  Pale blue/grey stripy effect over off-white pairs with jeans so well - it's adds texture and is just the finishing touch my look needs.
