Lime Green & a Floral Skirt

Welcome by on this glorious Monday.
Well fingers crossed it's a glorious day, as we've had wonderful weather over the weekend which has put everyone in a good mood I'm sure.
My weekend has been super, this over fifty blogger has been spending time with the family enjoying a morning at the local open air pool, followed by two BBQ's on Saturday and Sunday.
We had roughly a half hour wait to be admitted to the pool, waiting for people to leave was a by product of wanting to swim and play in the open-air pool.  Kids loved the rapids and small slides but it wasn't big enough for the revellers on the hottest day of the year, because space for towels was cramped and queues were long.  We should have gone to the beach but not sure the kids would have liked the pebbles, sand and seaweedy water. We all had a really lovely time it almost felt like I was on holiday, just couldn't find the bar serving cocktails and the all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant - ha ha ha!

In-between playing with the kids, enjoying the sunshine and getting BBQ food ready I managed to sneak a few photos for my #ootd.

You all know how much I love florals.   If you're unsure that a look at some previous outfits I've loved wearing.   Flared floral beautymy favourite flowery trousers &  in a delicate flower covered dress.  Soft fuzzy pansies cover this skirt & I was drawn by the bright and loud colours - including luminous lime green, burnished orange and radiant mauve.  Plenty of choices to match with it, so I chose lime green by way of a vest tee shirt.

I find pencil skirts comfortable and flattering and this delicate silk version is no exception.  It has a reverse zip & also a back split.  This feminine beauty wont be far from my side through out summer I reckon, and with so many possibilities I hope you don't get fed up of seeing it in the next few months my friends.

I'm converted to adding interest to outfits by mixing not matching accessories.  Textures and patterns add so much to a look, it's like looking at a painting and seeing something different each time.  I adore to watch people at weddings and special occasions just to see what they pair and piece together - it's a good way to get ideas too.  Another wonderful viewing opportunity is Ascot (on TV) it's good to get a glimpse of what other people chose to wear.

Do you remember seeing my beaded bag nearly two years ago?  It was for my nieces wedding and complimented the same sandals and a pale blue Jacques Vert dress.

Here's the cream sandals I wore to the family wedding, I picked them up in Zara fancying the block heels would work well on the grass under the marquee, happy to say they did!

Thanks for stopping by today.  I'm off now to watch the latest from Love Island - yes sorry I'm hooked on the program and spent all last week catching up on the episodes I missed whilst on my holiday.
See you on Thursday.
Bye for now. X

  1. We had a BBQ too! Oh how I love that! I would rather spend the day at the beach then in a busy outdoor pool. With some fish&chips and get me a icecream with a Chocolate flake! Oh yeah, real brittish!

  3. I love that skirt! I reminds me of the one I bought and wore for the botanical gardens. Surprising how comfortable it is. I think the length helps make it more wearable.

  4. Such a cute pencil skirt and the yellow tank is a really nice combination with it! :) The time at the pool sounds like fun even if it was a little crowded!
