Style not Age - Frill Seekers!

Good morning.
How are you?
Being the last Monday of the month means today's feature is the ladies from the Style not Age collective.
My turn this month, and I've had this one up my sleeve for a while - Frill Seekers!  Obviously going down the frilly route and as this particular fashion is still popular it wasn't difficult to find my outfit.  Having already got plenty of frills in my wardrobe I ditched them and bought something new.  Two reasons - the first being you've seen all my frilly pieces on the blog already - I didn't have anything new to share. Secondly I needed an additional dress to take away to Abu Dhabi next month.  Resulting in buying a new dress with frills that I could take on holiday.

Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.

I saw this dress in M & S some weeks ago drawn by the colour - a stand out cranberry red, but the length put me off.  I don't like my knees showing so tend to steer clear of shorter dresses opting for midi's instead - much more flattering.  So after losing a few pounds I decided to take the plunge and buy this striking red frock that finishes just on the knee.  The sheer chiffon has a spotty design over it that is really eye catching.  The fashionable wrap around style has an inner button fastening at the waist along with the side tie.  With long balloon sleeves that are sheer enough to flash a little flesh and keep cool too.  But what really stood out was the fabulous frill running from the waist to the hem.

Taking it up a notch by wearing some sparkly red sock boots.  Having pined for some for a while, so when I was offered to pick something from a selection at Lotus Shoes* I jumped at these super shimmery booties.  With just the right height heel and an elegant pointed toe I certainly feel they'll be season appropriate for the festive period that's just around the corner.  Check them out along with the two other colours they're available in.  As with the dress & being just under £70 these little beauties will get plenty of airings over the next few months for the party season.

Watch out for them paired with some cute grey check trousers and a red roll neck jumper. 😄

Red Thames Shimmer Ankle Boot.

This spotty dress comes in sizes 8 - 24 in black, navy or a marvellous black mix option too.  All are online and in store for only £35, and I have to say I'm very tempted to buy another in the floral design.😏

Shall we see what frilly garments Anna, Hilda and Emma are styling?

Anna found at Anna's Island Style has gone for a beautiful white frilly blouse, complete with frills on the cuff.  This she's worn over light wash denim jeans & a gorgeous patterned waistcoat which nips in at the waist for a superb fit, you've definitely shown the key to wearing a waistcoat well Anna!

Here's Hilda's frilly delight, a cute open shoulder jumper with dainty frills on the sleeve and mid way on the arms.  Easing into her time away by relaxing in her elegant outfit on a seat in the sun, you look just about ready for your holiday Hilda.  See more of Hilda's ensemble on her bog Over the Hilda.

Finally let's see what Emma has chosen.  Wow what a fabulous jacket you've picked Emma, just look at the flowers adorning that classic jacket, your red blouse emulates a dinner shirt and those bright red socks boots complete the look of a beautiful bouquet.

Such a great collective this month ladies, with a variety of outfits - all fit for seeking thrills of any kind!
My visit to the local amusement fair was just about on my limit for thrilling rides - just a shame that none were open - although some of the photos might not have been acceptable for public viewing - slides, stairs and short skirts - I'll say no more!!!!

Many thanks to Emily for taking photos. X
Catch you again on Thursday - there's the #chicandstylish #linkup to add to, hope you'll join me.
Bye for now. X

  10. WOW I love that you all chose frills or ruffles as they are right up my alley. As a matter of fact I recently bought a similar wrap dress in a wine-ish red color with tiny white dols. Love yours with the sheer Swiss Dots. With those shimmer wine boots makes a great Holiday look already! And Jacqui - how exciting you will visit Abu Dhabi.
