Fashion and Lifestyle Blogger for the over Fifties - What real women wear!

Something to wear for an evening party.

Hi there - what you all up to?
Home after an exciting week away in Ibiza, back to washing, ironing and catching up on everything.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you've all been doing too, so I'll be working my way through your blogs throughout the coming week.

Now the hot weather has finally arrived it's making me think of what to wear for evening parties in the summer.

After playing around with a few ideas, I finally settled on this little number.
I've had this stretchy orange dress a couple of years, and it always seems to be in the 'old faithful' category.  You know the ones that can be pulled out and dressed up for a special occasion like an evening party, dressed down for a day shopping, or simply relaxing in for a lunch date!  As it's sleeveless I wanted to cover up my arms as they felt a bit showy for this occasion, so I had a rummage through my youngest daughter's room - hey presto!  She had the perfect kimono to match it, the hot orange flowers matched the dress perfectly.
I pulled out my high heeled black sandals and my faux Chanel clutch bag and I was nearly ready, the only extra I needed was this plunge beaded necklace with tassels on.
How about the earrings?  I've had these since the 80's (can you tell?) and they make a welcomed appearance every so often.  They are quite statement and heavy, but for the cause I went with them.

Having been back home for nearly two days now, it almost seems like I've not been away.  Being around the grandkids all day was brilliant.  Even though it's only been one day,  I've missed them.  But it just so happens I'll be seeing them later for my 'fix' of love, play, fun and cuddles. 😁
I'd say I was looking forward to coming home, but really I'd be lying - he he he.  Have you got any holidays booked?  Let me know where you've been or where you're heading off to.  I'm off to have a peruse where to go for my next little jaunt!

Thanks to Esther Ruby for taking these shots. X
Hope you'll be back again, I appreciate your time and support. x
Bye for now.
