Style Steal - 400th post!
Welcome to the 400th Mummabstylish blog post! Quite a feat in my book. With many highs and lows, I'm actually rather proud of my little baby, my fashion from an over fifty point of view & even though there's been times I wondered why I'm bothering - I actually love what I'm doing, it's given me my identity back so for the foreseeable future I'm staying put!
I'm off shopping today, going to check out what's new and hot. Will be posting on my IG stories so do take a look. I need to find accessories for the green dress I've purchased for the wedding I'm attending next month. I think I might go for nude, but will see what grabs my attention.
Another busy weekend working in the garden on Saturday, we're hosting our daughters wedding in May so the garden needs to be in tip top condition which means cutting and shaping the boundary hedges to a more manageable height, along with flattening more of the garden ready for grass seed. We're having a marquee with all the trimmings, & since the new year it's becoming very real. We will be celebrating a wedding and seeing our daughter move on - yikes! I've got to fit in mother of the bride dress shopping, and I've not got an iota of what styles or colours I want so will be starting with a blank sheet! You'll all be the first to know when I eventually do find 'the outfit'.
Today is also the Mummabstylish Style Steal. With so much inspiration from your blogs it was hard to chose a candidate. Who do you think I've copied this month?

Can a girl ever have enough handbags? #chicandstylish #linkup
Morning lovelies.
How you doing?
I'm still enjoying the slopes as we speak, and have a few days left to relish.
Today being Thursday it's the #chicandstylish #linkup, so do read on through and join in!
Looking through my handbags I realised I didn't have a grey crossover bag, so after dropping a couple of hints (big ones) to the family prior to Christmas, this one landed under my tree. I've enjoyed using it quite a few times already, so it's been a good addition. See it last week with floral & frills also with these wide leg trousers.
I got to thinking about all my other bags - some bought myself, others presents - and here they are!

Grey stripes and white jeans. #chicandstylish #linkup
Morning dear bloggers.
Are you feeling the chill?
Yes me too, it got decidedly colder on Sunday, so hubby switched the heating on. After being away over night and waking up to horrendous wind and rain it was much appreciated when I walked through the door, in tee shirt and sandals! I'd been with my girls on a hen night. We went to a spa hotel on the coast for a day of pampering and a super evening meal. I had one hell of a luxurious facial, leaving my skin fresh and clean - It felt amazing. I've made a pact with myself to have one every month.
After an afternoon of fun, laughs, relaxation and chatter, I made my way up to the gorgeous room to get ready. Included in the stay was a three course meal comprising of chicken and ham hock terrine, roasted chicken supreme, tarragon mousse, potato gnocchi & charred baby courgettes with a tomato jus. This was rounded off with a cheeky lemon posset and an extra glass of prosecco, savoured all the more because I've been dieting! You have to treat yourself sometimes don't you?
Generally a quiet night with a couple of quizzes about the hen and a show & tell kind of game, giving the hen a gift that means something to both parties, either funny or meaningful. I was baffled with this one, but eventually remember the time she worked as a delivery driver for a local supermarket - her boss got a call to say she was stuck in a field whilst following the sat nav. She had to be towed out & I don't think the shopping got delivered. She never really lived that one down!! Lol.
Now the weather is so changeable Needing extra layers now that Autumn has arrived, so let me share this cute tunic jumper with you.

5Over 50 - These boots were made for walking.
Hi there - so pleased you could stop by.
Today is the November 5Over50 style challenge.
I hope you've been watching the previous months, but if not here's a link to check Last months here.
Today's task was set by Anna - see her blog right here. I had the pleasure of meeting up with
Anna & Gail from the 5Over50 Group, you can see our meeting on the London Eye.
I've got endless ankle boots that would fit the purpose beautifully, but alas not many knee high boots! The reason being my rather large calves! I struggle to find boots that will fit my ample legs, so with plenty of searching both on line and in the stores I'm sad to say I came up with big fat zero!
After telling you all on my Lotus blog post that my ankle boot collection was complete - I've bought another pair, opps! These will look charming in the challenge, so by the time I got to the till, my outfit was chosen in my head! No more strolling round the shops or ambling up and down the high street - my quest for boots was over.

For me this should have been a walk in the park - sorry just had to do that!I've got endless ankle boots that would fit the purpose beautifully, but alas not many knee high boots! Jaeger on a Thursday?
Hello from MummaB ......
Whilst it's not out of the realms of reality to have Jaeger on a Thursday, this Jaeger is a stunning top & not a drink!
Half way through summer and some days are feeling decidedly more like Winter! We never seem to get a happy medium here in the UK, it's either stifling hot or freezing cold. Never knowing whether to wear a strappy top and cropped jeans or long trousers, cardigan & a rain mac!
When the photos were taken a few weeks ago it was a quite hot - so with our changeable weather in mind I chose to wear my years old M & S white linen trousers, M & S have similar here.
The linen palazzo trousers are cool enough to wear in hot weather, whilst still keeping my legs warm from the inconsistent windy weather!
Debuting this gorgeous Jaeger cotton mix top, I received from my sister for my birthday prezzie. She knows my style really well and we tend to have similar likes and dislikes - we often love what each other wears, then subsequently by something exactly the same or similar.
So getting back to the top - the white with black leaf design top is sleeveless with a double frill running down the side - which is a statement detail that I find very appealing.
Jaeger have been around for many years and produce effortlessly stylish clothing for both women and men. The excellent quality shines through in garments for work and play without the designer price tags. Jaeger you really are 'the bomb'!
Black and white has always been a winning combination in my eyes and I never get tired of wearing it.
How pretty is this backdrop? Just right for showing this monochrome outfit.
You can see my version of the not-to-be-confused-with monochromatic look here on my blog post at 5Over50 share Monochromatic!
Are you a fan of linen trousers? I've owned a few over the years and it does pay to spend a little bit more to get better quality. Cheaper linen trousers have a tendency to stretch when being worn! Who wants baggy, stretched clothes?
But remember linen never, ever goes out of style, so buy those trousers, dresses and shirts. You will always have something to wear in your wardrobe for any occasion.
Linen can be dressed up or dress it down with some basic accessories, for example a stunning necklace over a dress for an evening out or a silky scarf and straw hat paired with linen trousers and flats for an afternoon shopping.
Linen Trousers from M & S.
Top From Jaeger.
Sandals from Faith at Debenhams.
Let me know if and what you have that's linen in your life, I'd love to hear.

I'll be off now, my daughters birthday to prepare for along with a night out on Saturday!
Wishing you all a super weekend - whatever you do.
Bye for now. X

Black and white at the cinema.
Hi there,
Yes It's black and white at the cinema - my outfit not the film - lol!
Off out to the cinema and have a bite to eat. Have you seen Inferno yet? To be totally honest is there any film with Tom Hanks in that isn't great? He's one of my favourite actors, so I'm on to a winner before I've even sat down in the cinema.
A quick round up of the days events, nothing to report really, Ballet class, was...err let's say interesting seeing as I've committed to an exam in two weeks time!!!! Well I'll keep you informed on how that pans out. ;-)
How we feeling about the black and white - good call or not?
Not worn these jeggings for ages, to be quite honest they not the most comfortable option, because they have no belt loops, so no belt what does that equal? Falling down jeggings Yes! I keep hitching them up, doing a strange wriggling dance, some people may think I'm trying to twerk - OK well I'm OK with that. ha ha!
Wallis have some fabulous similar leggings in store or on line here.
I've opted for this spotty blouse underneath the plain black jumper both from Matalan, it's long enough to hang down, to create this on trend look that's a winner in my book!
All that's left to comment about is my high black leather ankle boots. So old I can't remember where they came from, so take from that the fact of buying something and keeping it long enough it'll come back in fashion lol.
This gorgeous Jaeger necklace comes out to play every so often and it's a real statement piece that was worth the amount it cost!
Linking with Skirtssnailsandsupermomtales, Shelbeeontheedge, Colorandgrace and Finewhatever today.
Off out now, until next time byeeee. X
