October Review - My Weekend with Family & Friends

Hello and welcome to my blog today.
How has your week gone.

Can you believe it’s the first week of November! Won’t be long and the decorations will be up!

It’s been such a great weekend. I’ve had the best time with friends and family. Saturday evening was my daughter’s birthday party. She had a Halloween gathering with all the family and it was a fancy dress party. It’s been years since I got property dressed up and my outfit came  about really easily. I thought day of the dead theme would be good so bought a package from Amazon and wore them with an old dress I had hanging in my wardrobe. Included in the set was lace gloves, a lace and flower hairband, a black necklace and dark red and black roses. I bought some makeup and set about turning my face into a skeleton. I had fun doing this and although it wasn’t brilliant felt quite pleased with my efforts. Do tell me what you think of my look!

Sunday was also good fun. David and I went to our best friend’s house to celebrate our 40th Anniversary. They, along with our other besties had booked a private chef (the chap who’d done the wedding dinner) and he cooked a three course meal for us at their house. The food was amazing and every bit as wonderful as the previous meals he’d cooked for us. We started with drinks, crisps and olives and then devoured our starters. Most of us had smoked mackerel pate, which I’m dreaming of now! Main course was sirloin of beef with hassle back potatoes with a red wine jus. It was amazing. James really is an incredible chef and knocked it out of the path. The dessert course was then served. It was a lemon posset served with fresh raspberries and honeycomb. Oh god that was good. We had copious amounts of fizz served too. James provides a personal chef service, which includes cooking, serving, clearing and washing up as he goes. What an absolute treat it was and truly a brilliant get together with our best friends. James now has his own pub. A typical English one at that and has lots of plans to build the business, with dedicated evenings like Italian and Mexican menus, along with sip and paint nights with bands included along the way.

So you’re really here to look back on my last month.
Welcome to the October Review. The first post of October was basically all about my new jacket. I’d seen a friend wearing a military style blazer and wanted to replicate part of her look. I found a similar version on H&M’s website and immediately bought it. So let me know what you think of this brass button beauty. X

The next look was based around new jeans. I’ve still not worn these due to my foot injury, but come my return to normal I’ll be wearing these with boots and shoes alike. Do pop over to see more.

Up next are my new trainers. I wear a lot of them nowadays as they’re so comfortable and with the amount of different colours and styles can work wonders into new outfits. Tell me, what do you think of these?

My next post was all about one brown jumper. I showed how one M&S Jumper that coat £18 could be a versatile addition to your winter collection. Head over to see all my looks for it.

Another autumn find next by way of this knitted top. I like the classic look of this black with white spots cardi. Doesn’t it look good with black trousers?

Want an idea of what to wear to a wedding? Take a look at this beauty from Klass. It’s the perfect colour for Autumn the foil really speaks volumes. Have a look at the full post here.

Whet to wear for a day in London next. This covered my challenge for Style Not Age too. Checkout why I started at the boots first on this post featuring them.

Finally what to wear to an event in London where it’s going to be filled with gorgeous influences and like minded ladies. I’m sure you’ll agree this was the best look, the barrel leg jeans work well with me fab jacket.

Thank you for joining me here today.
Hope you will leave me a little message too.
Bye for now. X
