Negative Comments!

Morning, how are you all my lovelies?
After telling you all I've had some relaxing weeks my weekend has turned out to be rather busy.  Friday evening I went ballroom dancing - I have been learning the waltz.  It's very odd dancing alone (hubby's adamant he won't join me) so I either dance solo, with the teacher or his wife - it really makes a difference having a partner to dance with so will have to keep badgering hubby to come too!
Saturday night, after a day working in the garden, we had dinner with friends, a fabulous evening made easier because we all took a course of food.  My choice of pate with a selection of anti pasti for starters went down well, but I kept picking which is a big downfall for my diet!   Sunday arrived way to early after a late night, getting up to bake cakes for the baby shower I attended.  This was for my daughter-in-law and went very well.  We answered questions about mummy-to-be, guessed her waist measurement with string, tried to work out who the baby pictures were and ate lots of party food.  Home to chill after the busy weekend!  What did you all get up to?

Red has a habit of cheering me up.  It's an emotionally charged colour as it's the colour of blood and life.  It's associated with power, passion, love and confidence.  Red will lift your emotions & is a good choice for instilling confidence - something that will give you the edge when you're lacking it.
I picked this red outfit after recently receiving a negative comment - it really was a pick-me-up shade and helped big-up my ego.

Last week I received my first ever negative comment!  I have to admit I was very slightly upset by the comment, that was left on Twitter & although it was barely detrimental I felt it was unnecessary.  The person in question basically found my outfit not stylish and was not sorry about the fact.  I know that not everyone will like me or my blog content which is fine - we're all different. Everyone who blogs etc has to accept there may be negative comments, but in my mind why do people have to spread unkindness?  If you don't like something don't read or watch it - I mean I'm not making anyone read my blog/social media sites.  I'd prefer someone not to visit again rather than leave a horrible comment, likewise if you like what you see, I'd love you to leave a positive thought. X
With all this being said I would like to say a huge Thank You to Catherine - Not Dressed As Lamb  who totally had my back and answered the person in a polite but definite way before I'd finished reading.  We have a wonderful blogging community with ladies that look out for each other in a way I'd never expected and that's just another reason why I love blogging so much.  I'm proud of you all and class each & everyone of you as friends. So anyone who doesn't like me or my style can jog on - "I ain't bovverred" 😁

You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, but you can't please all the people all of the time!

You've seen this striking crimson jacket (love this one) before, & doesn't it look fabulous paired over these red jeans!  Yes these are the red jeans (these are similar) I picked up in the Zara sale!  Perfect length for me finishing on the ankle.  I often need to wear a belt with jeans - the whole hip - waist ratio for me doesn't always work, but with these I didn't need one.  Worn with my pink fishnet design Bias Cut shirt, my cable knit jumper fitting snugly over the top. All topped off by my bright, fun and cheery jacket.

I quite like to wear my crossover bags (this is very similar) in this fashion sometimes.  I pulled the strap to nearly double which lets the bag sit high up just under my bust.  This is also a much safer way to hold your valuables close to your body when visiting somewhere new when unscrupulous persons may be lurking!  Sensible and stylish don't you think?

You've seen my pink boots often on the blog, they are so much more comfortable than I expected them to be - my 'proper 80's style' pointy toe stilettos!

Thanks goes to Esther Ruby for taking these photos - much appreciation X
Great to see you here today - please do leave a comment as I love to hear from you. X
Do let me know how you deal with negative comments.
Bye, bye for now. X

I enjoy your every post and picture but never comment. But, I must say - That red outfit on you is STUNNING!! With your fabulous coloring, I love how you look in all the jewel tones, but this outfit - wow! (I still pine for your beautiful red summer frock.) The fitted jeans look great. You have such a nice figure and wear clothes so well. Greetings from New Jersey!

  11. I feel for you! One of my first posts on Instagram was ridiculed by a person. Of course I blocked her (and it was just over a mini-review of lip balm). I don't need that kind of negativity nor do you! You're just lovely and today's outfit is gorgeous! I love the red and I love your pink boots and I love the way you've pulled everything together!

  14. I can not imagine that some people have time to write bad things to others. Probably, these people are very unhappy with their lives, that's why they project their own negativity on other people. Jacqui, please, don't take those words personally. They are talking about themselves, not about you... Love your outfit very much!
