Tan & Crimson Red - Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Good morning everyone.
How’s your week gone and more importantly happy 1st February.

I’m hoping for better weather to arrive soon, this winter seems to be dragging on! ๐Ÿ˜‚
Do you recall me telling you about some new jeans I’ve bought?  Well they arrived and I’m smitten! They suit me perfectly, as I thought they would, because I’m obsessed with the wide leg trouser. (Did you see Monday’s post featuring a wide leg jumpsuit?) I figured jeans would be a good addition and these stood out to me after seeing someone on Instagram wearing them. These beauties will see me through to the Summer, pairing tops and jumpers for some Spring inspiring looks. You can see them next week as I’m taking photos soon.
Hope you’ll stop back but until then let me update you on a favourite colour combination that I wore the other week. ❤️๐Ÿงก

If I’m being honest I love a neutral outfit, they just look so chic and elegant. Many years ago I was in London with friends and spotted Nicky Hambleton-Jones interviewing people on Carnaby Street for the TV program 10 Years Younger, well you can imagine I just had to get in on the act and found myself and another friend having a chat on camera about wearing boring beige (guess what I was wearing?) She suggested adding a pop of colour to a neutral outfit showing how it lifted my colouring and added a wonderful glow to my face. I’ve always remembered this and although I often wear nudes and latte colours, sometimes it makes sense to place a blast of brightness into the mix.

Everything you see has been featured on the blog previously, and although the skirt has only made a couple of appearances in my day to day wearing - it really is an elegant style.

It’s a roomy elasticated waist full skirt, which are apparently on trend at the moment. This is from Primark via Vinted & is faux leather which has a nice swish to it.
You know me well by now that I love a bargain and even though the price has slipped my mind, it’s safe to say I probably paid less than £10 for it!

The jumper was also a bargain too.  I picked it up in the Next sale a few years back and it’s one of those items that just washes and wears beautifully, if I remember rightly it was marked down to £7, so I snapped that up and it’s been a welcomed addition to many an outfit!

Now I think the bag deserves some attention as it’s just divine. I’d asked for a red bag for Christmas and as usual David didn’t let me down. Just look how lovely this LK Bennett tote bag is.
It’s half leather, half suede and has two handles, a long over-the-shoulder style and two shorter leather straps that sit neatly in my hands. It’s got gold hardware and is a square style with an open top.

I topped the look off with a bright red jacket, this hangs beautifully and really does take the whole outfit up a notch.
I wanted to keep similar colours for my footwear and picked my tan faux suede boots from Lotus Shoes. I fell for these immediately I saw them. They are three quarter length which finish mid calf, they also have a stylish heel that’s a great height for casual wear like lunch dates and cinema trips. Come the Spring, when the weather is good I’ll be enjoying these feminine boots with all sorts of outfits.

  4. I love seeing other people wear beige but hate it on me, but you're right, if I wear a bright colour near my face, I could probably get away with it. You look fab, Jacqui! xx
