Hello and welcome to Mummabstylish.
So happy you've found my blog today.
I'm an over fifty fashion blogger and love sharing my styles and a little of my lifestyle. I'm a busy mum of 5 grown up kids who have blessed me with 7 grand-kids ... so far.
It's a hectic house as I have two still at home and the others are only a short journey away. They are always popping by or needing help so there's always something going on. Just yesterday I looked after two of them whilst daddy caught up on sleep (he works shift patterns) and the night before I had little Max whilst mummy and daddy went out for dinner. They certainly do keep me on my toes - quite literally!
Tell me are you hand's-on grand-parents or still parents - it's hard work and I take my hat of to you!
I'm also a very excited Mummabstylish. Reason being I've treated myself to a one-to-one photography course. It's just for a few hours on Friday (tomorrow) but I hope to have mastered how to take (or set up the camera) photos of me for the blog - wish me luck!
I'm so thankful to have wonderful children who are fully supportive of me and my blog. They help me in any way they can. Hubby also helps me with ideas for blogs and also taking photos. So once I've had my lesson on Friday I hope I've got a better idea of what I'm doing, fingers crossed for better photos.
My youngest daughter helped take these photos today, hasn't she caught the skirt brilliantly!
Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.
I'm sharing another gifted item with you today. A few weeks ago I shared this stunning cardigan from Cotton Traders on the blog. I thought it might compliment today's skirt, but the greens were just the wrong shade! So I set about finding something in my wardrobe to mix with it. I didn't have to look to far as this silky blouse was hanging near it and looked like they could be great team mates. I guessed right and don't they look a picture.
Let me tell you a bit about my skirt. It's called Melody* - isn't that a pretty name? It's suits this ditsy skirt that's also available in three other colours. I like the other styles, but with pink being my favourite colour it was the obvious choice. Do check out the the other colours ... Cobalt, Black and Coral. An elegant skirt with an easy-to-wear elastic waistband that also has a draw string tie - a brilliant addition as it can be cinched in to create a flatteringly feminine silhouette. The full skirt gives lots of movement as you walk & I love the classic length - a perfect addition for your Summer wardrobe.
The Melody is 100% machine washable, but for optimum results do twist after washing - I'll look forward to trying this!
I added a statement necklace and small clutch bag to my look, the gold beads are a firm favourite of mine and they come out to play every so often, getting a nice compliment when they do. I also picked my grey clutch, I like to add interest into a look and tend to go for shades and not the same coloured accessories - a bit like mix and match. X
All that's left for me to tell you is the boots come from Lipsy. They're a faux suede in a light grey and have a fashionable high heel, but its not too high to be uncomfortable. I love an ankle boot, even in the Summer I seldom pack them away!
It's #Chicandstylish #LINKUP time.
First let's see who the favourite blogger from last week is .... Jill - Doused in Pink. What a beautiful rainbow dress this is - making me dream of Summer holidays, hopefully without any rain in sight!

ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to take some photography classes for a while. Maybe this coming year as all the kiddos will be in school. I didn't realize you still had children at home. It seems like a fun and busy life with all of your children nearby. Lots of love to spread around!

Gosh I didn't realise you have 5 children! Wow! How do you fit it all in, my life seems crazy busy with two and only my daughter is still at home (part time - she is also at uni)! I'd love to hear more about your photography workshop, I am sure I could do a better job with using my tripod! Your skirt looks really pretty, super for this weather at the moment. Love Michelle xx

Love the colours in this outfit, Jacqui - very pretty. Good luck with the photography course. I did a few courses before beginning my blog, one of them was a "beginners" photography course, which gave me the basics I needed. Enjoy. xx
