What to wear NYE - Leather Look Matalan Skirt - #chicandstylish #LINKUP

Hello there .... hope you're surviving the Christmas preparations!
All going well with me, so far!

With new year fast approaching I'm thinking about what to wear for the festive night.  We are out with friends to a local pub, so it's not really a very 'dressy' night, but you know me always wanting to push the boat out as they say.  So here's one possibility of what I might wear.
"She's not wearing a dress"  I can hear you say!  Well yes I know I tend to wear dresses at every opportunity as they're so bloody easy to wear!  But when I was away with my sister last month, she showed me one of her latest buys - this leather look pencil skirt.  It's from Matalan and at a snip of a price £16, it has to be the buy of the season.  I tried hers on and it fitted!  Guess where I went the following week?  Yes you guessed right ... Matalan.  I figure it can be dressed up or down, here I've picked it up a level for NYE celebrations, but paired with a chunky jumper, thick tights and boots that will change the feel completely - what do you think?

Can you tell I was freezing when Esther and I popped out the other day to shoot this?  You can almost hear my teeth chattering - lol.
So I'm planning on wearing this to the pub to see in the New Year.  It's not often I get a chance to wear sequins so I'm going to enjoy the bling when I can.  My daughter bought me this last Christmas from Oasis - but sequins are in abundance at the moment and quite honestly will never date!  This one is now £20 and is very similar - a bargain from Wallis.

Unfortunately we didn't take any reverse photos so you can't see the back of the top is plain chiffon which I rather like - it's not too over the top!   I like the colouring too, blue-y green-y pink-y - a dark twist on mother-of-pearl.
Long sleeves are also a great idea for cooler nights when sitting in a pub not dancing.  Although if the music is good, who knows! 💃  I do know that if I wear these silver sandals I'll be well equipped to dance the night away - having worn them to a wedding last year and did exactly that!   These would work quite nicely too!
