Well there's no one more surprised than me that I've reached my third year of blogging, I popped back to view my first ever blog post - crikey how bad can one blog be??? It's awful, it's short, all over the show and very vague! I'm proud to see I've come on leaps and bounds. Please don't go visit, it really is s**t! Lol.
I made a point of planning this post way in advance because I managed to miss my 2nd blog-aversary so wanted to make darn sure I didn't miss this one! I got so involved with blogging last year that I didn't notice what date it was (not that I knew when it was) so the anniversary came and went. That's not happening this year - I've got flowers, the fizz and lots of fun ideas! 😂
Happy blog-aversary to me! Mummabstylish has been alive for THREE WHOLE YEARS!!!
Starting my little blog was something I'd wanted to do for a while, I knew it would be about my fashion, as I had no history in the fashion industry. I also had no idea how to start a blog either. Each day has been a learning curve, I'm sure many of you are the same. With each week came a new challenge, many days I've felt like I was banging my head against a brick wall - (some days I still do). I've watched many YouTube sites about all sorts of issues, and am very proud of what I've learnt & how far I've come. I'm involved with a group of ladies for a monthly Style Not Age challenge, been featured on numerous blogs, worked with quite a few companies doing collaborations, have met up with a few fellow bloggers and also have attended a couple of events. None of these were ever expected and neither have the friends I've made along the way - all have been a real bonus!
I have lots of ideas for the coming months - so do stay tuned to join me for the ride.
I've had a spate of red outfits recently, and have loved them all. This one is no different, and the more I've worn it the more I like it. I spotted the blouse in the Zara sale back in January, and have worn it many times since. I like the fact it stands out. Red, black, yellow and white give a lot to play with, having worn it over blue jeans, black jeans and black trousers already. I'm planning to wear it with my red pleated skirt and black pencil skirt too.
The black block cuff has two cute button fastenings that are coal black, as are the buttons that run down the front. There's no collar giving a casual feel like a 'grand-dad' style shirt. Have always loved this style. Side splits also create a relaxed feel & the shirt can be left open like a jacket.
This is a really unusual patterned blouse with panels, flowers and birds over it and was just £10 in the sale, unfortunately it's now out of stock but I've found this similar shirt dress that's charming too!

It's #chicandstylish time.
Here's last week's favourite. Meet Jessica - Jeans & a Teacup who's styling a shirt dress three ways on her blog - and what's more it's from H & M and under £30!!! Who's heading to H & M then??? ME!

DeleteThat looks so good on you. I love the long-length tops in Zara but being only 5ft and a teeny bit, they hit my knees and make me look like I have no legs. Why can't they do a petite version? You would think Zara would, especially when so many Spanish women are not much taller than me!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your three-year anniversary. That's fantastic x
Oh that's a shame, I'm lucky and love wearing them. I think a petite version would go down a treat with lots of ladies. x
DeleteA huge congratulations Jacqui! 3 years is such an achievement. I started my blog as a hobby blog - so PLEASE don't go and check out my old posts either haha! xx Maria
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Maria, I can't believe it's been that long. Thanks so much for the support Hun. x
DeleteCongratulations Jacqui! I think it's worth celebrating the blog anniversary. We work hard dammit! I'm the same, I never remember what my first blog date is and never celebrated either. I also stressed a huge amount in the first year.I'm in my fourth now and can't believe how quick it's gone xx
ReplyDeleteSo true Laurie, here's to the next year ahead!
DeleteHappy 3 years! My blog turns 3 in April! Hard to believe isn't it? In some ways I feel like I've been blogging forever and then in others it feels like it's only been a minute!
ReplyDeleteLove how you styled this blouse!
xo,
Kellyann
Congratulations to you too Kellyann. I feel totally the same, and it's so nice to meet lovely new friends. x

DeleteHappy Blogging Anniversary, Jacqui! I have been following along with you since the very beginning as you began your blog not long after I began mine. I am coming up on 4 years in August. What a ride it has been! So many wonderful connections have been made all over the world and that is the greatest reward of this entire journey. You are looking fabulous in this red outfit. What a fun and unique shirt! I have been wearing tons of red on the blog lately, too. I think it is a great color with our dark hair!

But what a coincidence: I published my first blog post just three days before yours ;-) I'll be celebrating it next week only though, as I had almost but not quite forgotten ;-) It seems we both have come a long way! Love that blouse you're wearing, what a gorgeous print. As the early Spring weather seems to have left us, a little bit - or a lot - of colour is welcome! xxx
