Wednesday.

Hello all..

What's going on with this bloomin' weather?  Typically British I hear you shout.
Last nights BBQ bit of a wash out, no change there!  Absolutely tipped it down!  I don't think it could have rained any harder if it tried.  Then all of a sudden rain stopped, sun appeared, BBQ quickly lit, food cooked and subsequently consumed indoors, in anticipation of further down pours!  To top it off thunder and lightening followed for some of the evening lightening up the sky as if I had my own personal photographer with the flash on taking photos. ( I wished).

Great to have all the family together, all trying to get a word in edge ways, but princess being the centre of attention obviously.  She's chatting away all the time now and can say a variety of words, some clearer than others, but one word in particular comes out rather different than meant, instead of saying 'silly Nannie' it comes out 'pissy Nannie' - and we're all in fits, to which he laughs along too! Oh the innocence, love her.
Are you like this with your first grandchild?

Today's I'm going for a yellow look, the sun's shining, the skies are blue and cloudy, birds are singing and I'm feeling bright.  Off to help my mum later in her garden, I try and help out.  I'm fortunate enough to have mum still around and I want to spend as much time with her as I can, plus the fact I like being with her and  being out in the garden, especially when the weather is good.
So without anymore sidetracking, what do you think of today's Yellow?
H & M patterned trousers old season, Matalan yellow silky short sleeve top, matches the colour in my trousers perfectly.  New blue faux suede espadrilles, from Deichmann, not been in this shoe shop many times, but have bought a couple of great 'one season only' bargains.  These only £24.99!! also in beige. CAH I think!!!

Starting to plan my next 'weekend away' bag, "away again" I hear you say, my life isn't normally brimming with vacations and weekend breaks, It all seems to happen at the same time!  Having said that, now the children are old enough to fend for themselves, and sometimes probably like to have the house to themselves, we can go away more often. (one of the perks of getting older!)

Whilst browsing in Apricot last Saturday I spotted these cute little linen look chino shorts, only £22, with pleated detail, turn up on the hem and a cute tie waist, these will be a fab addition for weekend away, both colours could match with loads of my tops so not sure what colour to opt for, what do you think?

I'll post a blog with my weekend ensembles in the next couple of weeks, just need to check what the weather will be like when I jet off to abroad.

Until tomorrow, bye for now.X

Tuesday, feels like it should be Friday!

Morning to you all, how are we all today?

Planning a BBQ for dinner tonight, and happy to say that all my brood will be attending, including princess <3.  Need to prepare coleslaw and potato salad, so easy to do it yourself and tastes 100% better than most supermarket choices!
Nice to know someone else can take the reigns and do the cooking - smug face.

Also the dreaded grass cutting!  I've got away with  doing the front garden for the last couple of cuts as being away my eldest son did it.  But hey ho, off to cut the grass I go!
You may remember I mentioned last week that I was visiting the garden centre.  Yes I did go and came out with an assortment of flowers and will be showing you these in the next couple of weeks.

OOTD....

Todays 'MummaB' will be going for the Nautical look, white skinny jeans, Breton style black and white long line T shirt, and my amazing Next flat black and off white pumps.  These have an ankle strap making them stay put, unlike some of my ballet pumps.  The jeans are previous season from Matalan, just the right length on me, and a nice waist fit, great to hold everything in place.  The long line T is from F & F sale, normally always see something instore, and sometimes they even find there way home!  How did that happen!!?? Lol.

Just noticed my little dog Roxy popping into the photos!

Ok hope your Tuesday evening goes well, what have you all got planned? Please share, I'd love to know.
See you tomorrow.X

Monday...Phew!

Yes, that was a busy but fab weekend.  Feeling rather please with all I've achieved these past few days, and I'm now looking forward to a chilled week.

Yesterday went rather well indeed, quick visit to see family at a 30th  birthday BBQ and then a fun, laughter filled afternoon at family Christening.  Another wonderful occasion spent with close family and friends, enjoying the sunshine, a couple of drinks and a gorgeous smorgasbord of food.

Decided to wear different shoes with my lovely little white dress hubby presented me with last week. Having collected 100% perfect dress - see previous post Here.  I opted for white spotty M & S slingback shoes, more for the fact that I didn't own a suitable necklace to complete the look I was going for with tan shoes. So with this in mind I could use my new purchase from Forever 21,  the cute Chanel style bag black bag I bought yesterday.

Today rather a laid-back look, because just chilling and a few chores, therefore no #OOTD, I'd hate to scare you with my appearance today!

Until tomorrow you lovely lot...X

Sunday...with a dash of lie-in!

Morning all, feel I'm on the home straight of a busy, but enjoyable weekend.
Just had a wonderful lie-in, so good to not have to get up.  Even on weekend breaks and holidays  I still have to get up for breakfast, well I don't have to, but hate missing out ;-)
It really charges my batteries and I can face the forthcoming week with  enthusiasm & expectancy.

Pate made and chilling in the fridge, outfit ready (well two actually- hey a girl can change her mind!)
Cards written and presents wrapped.  Just need to get this body, face and hair ready! Not sure I've got that long lol.

Wanted to share with you my couple of purchases yesterday,
I've wanted a little Chanel style bag for ages, you know how it goes, see something you'd like to own and then keep seeing it everywhere!  So when I saw this cutie pie bag in Forever 21, in a choice of two colours, I had to have it.  Opted for the black!  Hands Up... I know, I know.   I really need to add pops of colour!  But I will be buying it in the red!  Various other styles and colours all in the similar price range of between £18 to £22 - so you can have all the styles in all the colours!

Also spotted this elegant Cross-over jumper from H & M,  It's a fine knit, long sleeve, crossover at the front jumper.  So stylish and elegant in very pale pink,  mixing it with a Cami T shirt in pale pink and as you guessed one of my many, a Pearl cluster necklace.  I've got the perfect skirt to match with this, an older season "pencil" skirt from Matalan, they always have pencil skirts in the pull on, no zip, easy to wear jersey material. Great for loads of occasions, great for your pocket too!

Flat lay today, but how do you like the look?

Off to get ready now, catch-up tomorrow people.

Shopping on a Saturday - OK, just this once!

Hello fellow bloggers, hope you're having a super Saturday.

Just home after 'taxi' duties for my middle daughter (though that all changed once they could drive?!?!) she's off to The races, which left me with a little 'window' to pop into Bluewater.  Super, got there early and avoided the throbbing crowds, manged to walk my little feet off before the masses arrived and bagged a couple of purchases to boot!

Couldn't wait to wear a pair of my new shoes, the red, low heeled slingbacks. Wide fit with insolia flex, pure comfort and a steel at £25!  Obviously had to build the outfit around them, so black skinnies from H & M, black cami with my Matalan bold red flower pattern tunic top.

I find shopping easier with a crossover body bag, hands free for feeling and searching for the bargains.  This was a Christmas present and yet again came from TK Maxx!  This Osprey beauty if I remember rightly cost £30, obviously hubby had many 'prompts' regarding what I wanted...Lol. It's so often used and is worth every penny.  What kind of bag do you prefer when shopping?

Hopefully nice chilled evening tonight ready for Twins 30th BBQ and Christening tomorrow, my diary events are like buses, nothing for ages then two or more come along at once!

Outfit ready and waiting and I'll get a couple of shots and pop them on blog next week.

So long.... until tomorrow.X

Friday, so glad you're here!

Morning all, how are you?  Excited for the weekend?

Running errands today, popping into town to pick up a couple of bits, and preparing for youngest son's birthday drinks.  Probably a glass or two may be consumed!  A bit to do before that so back to the task in hand.

A good day for shoe buying yesterday and today, well three pairs actually.  I've made a start on adding colour to my footwear wardrobe!  Yes a red pair, blue pair and finally a tan pair, Will put together the outfits supporting them in the next week of so, very pleased with myself, funny though I quite often end up buying three pairs at a time!

My #OOTD has to be ease and comfort. therefore trousers a must.
These H & M crop trousers are a few seasons old, but still remain a great staple to fall back on,  This cobalt blue top, suitably picked out the blue in the trousers, although my photo taking hasn't really shown this.  Grey court heels were OK to wear as I was only out for a short while.  Denim faithful jacket completed today's style, along with grey pearl necklace knotted and matching pearl earrings.

So nearly wine o'clock, better finish my chores, have a fun evening everyone, see you tomorrow..

Fashion Should be Fun!

Are you a bright patterned or a neutral dresser?

Some of us love to dress with bright colours, mixing and matching everything together, pops of colour, shapes, flowers and patterns........

...on the other hand you may like to dress in neutral colours, blue, black, cream, grey and white.

However you wear you clothes, we are all individual and should never feel out of place, out of fashion, be proud of what you wear and how you wear it!

So that said...How do you like to wear it?

I'm a fan of all the colours of the spectrum, no not all together. You see some days I like to dress with a coloured palette, matching up reds and blues, yellow and navy, grey and pink, even blue and green, the old saying 'blue and green should never been seen' that doesn't apply to us now, we can wear what we like.  There's no stopping us now!
Other days, being very neutral blends well with me, happy to wear the basic colours and for me I feel unnoticed, in the background, they may sometimes reflect my mood, but I know if won't last for long.

So jump on in wear the colours you like, there are no rules, make up your own that suit your style, personality and budget!

Today I suppose was a mixture, dressing fairly plain, but with a big, bright, bold scarf. Gorgeous blasts of pink, blue and mauve - reflecting my optimistic mood.  How do you think I faired?

Here's today #OOTD
Next slim Jeans, TK Max Sheer Blouse, M & S White Cross over detail Sandals..fabulous scarf borrowed from middle daughter.... Splash!!!

Little shopping trip with my favourite four girls today and only one purchase which I'll show you when I've married them together with my white dress for forthcoming Christening.

Until tomorrow, finally the end of the week will be upon us..X

How can it be June already???

June? Really?  I can't quite believe it...I hope the weather knows this and comforms!

Back to Pilates today after a lo....o...n...g time off, oh dear this is going to hurt!

To compensate for a bit of exercise, a bit of shopping, yes I can do that....However....

...Disappointed to say shopping was a big fat No....nothing jumped out at me, no tan sandals, no cute tunic and certainly no dress for forthcoming wedding! Maybe because I was looking for specifics I couldn't find any!  See my earlier blog Open-minded shopping.  Tomorrow I'm off out for 'nothing in particular'

Anyway back to today's outfit.  Thought I'd try a flat lay today, you know how it goes, all dressed up, but know one to take a fantastic photo,  Opted for these amazing colours, navy, mustard and tan, what a great combination, a real pop of colour, a real statement, and the flower detail is beautiful, it really stands out too.
Hope you like this look, maybe you could share your great colour combinations with me.

Todays Outfit from Primark, Matalan, and M& Co.
Catch up tomorrow.

Tuesday.

OK beginning of a short week. Yay!
Getting to grips with my 'back down to earth' clearing up, washing and ironing after my wonderful weekend away - how boring.  But hey, not long until the next bursting-at-the-seams weekend.  Yes lots going on what with youngest son's birthday, Stag do day out (Obviously for hubby not me - meaning I can shop!),  another Birthday get-together and a Christening.  Busy, busy all weekend!

For the Christening I've decided to wear my gorgeous gift from my husband, the M & Co, White Broderie Sleeveless Shift Dress.  Shopping tomorrow for some sandals, I'm aiming for tan, but who knows what I'll find! Will post a photo next week to show you all the outfit.

With Hubby off  out for the day on Saturday, I'm planning to visit the garden centre for some plants for my very dull, weedy terracotta pots. Love having pots in my garden, because having no flower beds, I can at least have some pretty flowers to look at and having some planted with herbs, something I will use when I'm cooking.  I'm praying it doesn't rain so I can spend the afternoon in the garden, fingers crossed for me!

No #ootd today, so I've added a Wish list instead, what do you reckon?   Have you got something in particular on your wish list?  I'd love to hear what it is...

This first item, the super, stylish Tweed Jacket from Zara, coming in sizes xs to xl, this stunning blue jacket is a bargain for £69.99.
Great with jeans, equally as good with navy straight leg trousers, teamed either with a red or white blouse to show my patriotic side, a real winner in my eyes!

How about these tan/cork T bar sandals? £50, with 20% off now, so why not take a look online or in- store?

Finally...who doesn't like embroidered clothes?  What about this funky white tunic from H & M?  A steel at £14.99, in Small, Medium and Large can be worn on it's own or over shorts.  With summer on it's way, this can be a cute addition to a summer wardrobe.  Bring on the BBQ's!

So check out not dressed as lamb Link-up - you'll love what you find...

So until tomorrow....Byee..X

Back earlier than expected!

Hi to all, back sooner than I thought after a fab weekend in Cornwall visiting some family.  Glorious weather down in Cornwall which made for a special weekend.
The Pencubitt House, built in 1897, is a stunning property situated in Liskeard and is ideal for visiting the surrounding areas of South East Cornwall and Devon, close to Bodmin Moor and also the local fishing villages of Looe and Polperro.

We visited my family for a cosy evening meal in their family home near Liskeard catching up and enjoying the views of the surrounding contryside, the great weather was such contrast to my previous visit when it rained.  It was such an interesting night and was the perfect start to a wonderful weekend.

On Sunday Polperro was visited for the first time.  Wow such a picturesque little fishing village, I couldn't stop taking photos.  An array of narrow streets and alleyways, with plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants adjoing the many little houses and holiday homes squeezed inbetween them. Working my way down the streets, checking out the interesting shops, showing their arts and crafts, eventually finding the harbour that was sheltered by the cliff ravine, it is a truly traditional fishing village with a mixture of colourfully painted houses, fishing boats and aptly named pubs!

Here's a couple of outfits I took with me, Non-crease items were my best option, the jeans got plenty of wear, adding different tops to change the look each day.  One dress for the evening meal in the Pencubitt Restaurant.

The beautiful pearl drop earrings I purchased last week came with me for the weekend and I wore them with this blue and turquoise maxi dress, I choose not to wear a necklace, so that my earrings stood out, I'm thinking they did just that!

Next Jeans got some wear this weekend, and here's one way I wore them.  Florence and Fred stripy long line T shirt, black and white 'Breton' style. This top had long splits up each side so I decided to wear another white T underneath, although it was a bit too hot at times, problem solved by a drink stop in a couple of the many drinking venues along the route!
Obviously visiting Cornwall, I had to partake in a Cornish Pasty, mouth-.watering to say the least.

So how was your weekend? What did you get up to? I'd love to hear from you.
Until tomorrow...Bye, Bye...X
