Grey Leo Skirt with a Red Roll Neck.

Hiya, how are you?
Hope all is well with you.

I've had a super fun weekend.
On Friday we finished off learning the quickstep.  It was a fun dance and I seemed to pick it up easily.  You can view me dancing with the teacher here, chuffed to have been chosen to have the steps video'd for everyone to practice at home.
Didn't do much on Saturday just saw the grand-kids at various stages in the day.  David and I baby sat on the evening for my daughters four kids, they were all really good for us, although I did have a bit of a time trying to get my 8 month old grand-daughter to sleep.  I tried everything laying on the bed, cuddling her, rocking her and even let her older sister to try to settle her, I gave up in the end & gave her to hubby to try.  Guess what!  He only had her for about 2 minutes and she swiftly fell asleep on him!  Seems I'm losing my touch!

On Sunday I went to my grandson's first birthday party.  I can't believe how quickly the past year has gone, and he's growing up into a really cheeky chappie.  My daughter hired a local hall & some soft place pieces for all the kids to play on.  She also did some tasty party food, I adore little snacks like this and often eat way to much!  I seem to graze my way through the sausage rolls, sandwiches and crisps - not forgetting cakes too!  Max had a wonderful time as did all the other kids, I think the adults rather liked the bar too! 😉

Some items have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.

I've not many new clothes to share with you at the moment, so have resorted to shopping my wardrobe until I find anything new.  I've a such sleek pair of faux leather trousers from M & S, but I couldn't be bothered to try them on in the shop.  How silly of me because they are too small and I need a larger size!

So let's take a look at my latest creation from 'ma garde-robe'.

I started with this maxi skirt.  It's a flattering leopard print in the unusual colour of grey. It's that little bit different from the traditional brown mixture that's always a popular shade.  I think it's a great choice and can be paired with brighter tones like this red jumper I chose yesterday.
The pleated beauty is from Roman* and is a stunning creation that looks super stylish both dressed up or taken down a level with flat boots and denim jacket.  You can see here when I styled it with a grey roll neck and black accessories.

I wanted to brighten both my outfit and the day.  It's been really dismal lately with the mornings being really damp and misty.  We did have a window of sun just after dinner, but I wasn't ready to take photos.
So the red jumper certainly does lift the whole outfit and it was nice to wear something so fun and bright.

I didn't want to go down the route of elegance and sophistication and wanted to wear either my trainers or these chunky boots.  I reckon these get top marks with this look don't you.  They're not only comfortable but give an edgy street-like look - do let me know what you think. X

The textured bag* looks perfect too.  I adore styling different things together, everything comes together in joyful harmony.  I all just works doesn't it!

I was pleased to add the denim jacket into the mix yesterday.  I was worried it wouldn't be warm enough, but as I was only popping into my local supermarket for dinner ingredients it did the job and I kept warm. I'm always happy when the weather allows a jacket instead of a coat and I could have added thick tights and a long sleeve body suit if the weather was any cooler.  My motto in the Autumn and Spring is layers, layers, layers!

Cheerio my friends. X

  2. Red is definitely your colour, Jacqui! It's such a striking colour, and you can really pull it off! I love that skirt...especially as it's not the usual leopard print! I envy you that many grandbabies! I was just telling my husband how I miss the smell of a newborn. I wonder how long it will be before I get to hold a newborn again...probably quite a while as my oldest granddaughter is only 13!
