Fashion and Lifestyle Blogger for the over Fifties - What real women wear!

Another way with my Red pleated skirt.

Hi there.

I'm very slowly getting back to normal and can't believe how a cold can knock you for six!
I came down with this unwanted ailment last week after retuning home on a high from skiing.  I managed to get all the washing done, except some ski gear and had even managed a cycle class!  then it all went to pot.  I knew I was getting something, but hadn't guessed the severity.  I wouldn't say I had the flu, but certainly was suffering a very bad cold that did necessitate me to stay in bed for a couple of mornings - dragging myself up to then just lay on the sofa - yes that bad!

I'm usually a very 'well' person, always seems to avoid the coughs, colds, and upset tummies that make the rounds most years, so when I am struck down I hate it!
I hate having no energy, no oomph to get things done, not wanting to eat and feeling tired - it's just not me and I'm glad to see the back of it!

With blog post's planned I'm gently easing myself back into my hobby, with plenty of exciting subjects hovering on the horizon which I hope you'll pop back in the next few weeks to check out.
Now with the remaining ski jackets and trousers to get washed, then get everything back in the loft,  I'm just about back on track!

Back in December I shared a beautiful red skirt and jumper with you - lots of you loved the skirt so I decided to feature it once a month in a different mix.  Today I'm feeling French!  With my black and white stripy tee shirt, leather gloves and cute back neck tie this outfit has turned very 'je ne sais quoi' - Oui??

Adding a sweet little black jacket finishes off the Parisian look perfectly.  This will be worn again because now I've seen it together - I know it works - very happy over fifty blogger here!

Skirt from M & S
Jacket from H & M
Tee shirt from TK Maxx
Boots from New Look
Bag from Forever 21

I feel my post today is rather a 'burnt offering' due to my previous non-existent week, fingers crossed normal vigour will resume next week!

Thanks for joining me today - hope to see you again soon.

Bye for now. X

  12. Anything that keeps you in bed is more flu than cold Jacqui so do be kind to yourself. This year for the first time ever I opted to have a flu jab as it was predicted to be a bad year - so far, so good.
Anyway, on to your very glam outfit. I love this red skirt and thoroughly agree that it has a very french flair this way. The black jacket tops it off perfectly. Oh la la indeed!
