My purchase from Venice.

Hello, glad to welcome you to my blog.

Hope you've had a fun filled week.  Was it too scary?  Did you have many 'Trick or Treaters'?
I'm sad to admit we had no scary costumed children trick or treating at our door, despite having plenty of treats to exude, nothing happened. No knocks, no tricks and no scares!  It wasn't until speaking to my daughter yesterday morning, she told me if I didn't have a carved pumpkin or scary Halloween paraphernalia dangling around our house, most children wont knock!  I hotfooted it up to my friend-with-young-children's house and gave them the sweets we'd been saving for them, apologising for the dark, undecorated and uninviting house they'd neglected (for obvious reasons) to visit.  Must try harder next year!

I've just about got over my excitement of meeting my fellow over fifties bloggers and hope you managed to catch my blog post on Monday explaining my day.

Do you like to give credit when credit's due? Me too, so I'd like to thank you all for stopping by my blog and give a big hug for leaving comments. Attention to detail is often needed, so here's where I need to give a little consideration too.  I brushed over this blouse on Monday, rather taken over by the blogger get-together.  But I must give this gorgeous blouse the recognition it deserves.

Bought on a recent trip to Venice, desperate to take something home for my wardrobe from this beautiful city & this fitted the bill.  I noticed the colour and knew it would work in my Autumnal collection.  So lets look a bit closer into what attracted me to this blouse other than the colour.

Ruffles are still all over the place and haven't taken a back seat on the trend bus, so knowing this it had to come home with me.  High necklines are also very flattering for the over fifties & was another reason to purchase.  A deep 'V' ruffle added great detail to the front of this shirt, it just feels so comfortable and looks great.  Also I love the fact there's no cuff and button, the sleeves easily slip over the wrist, sharing another sassy frill.

Paired with tan peg top trousers to give a monochromatic look, this is not a style I often choose but here's my previous effort from back in July for the 5Over50 collective.
I've worn these numerous times, & being a neural colour they match with so much, having recently worn them with blush pink and also off white.
Tan beads looked cute as did these neutral block heel ankle boots.
Needing a coat I remembered this top coat hanging in my wardrobe, the brown and cream fleck coat has a fluffy fur collar and waist belt to cinch in the waist.  I fancied it would compliment my outfit.  I reckon it works a treat, keeping me warm on my dog walk in the woods too.

Blouse from Venice.
Trousers from Apricot,
Coat old from F & F,
Bag from Venice.
Boots from TK Maxx.

Thanks to my eldest daughter for taking photos, and my princess for the photobombing! 😄

Thanks so much for popping over today, glad you could make it.  Don't forget to come back on Monday as it's the November edition of 5 Over 50.

Until then have a super week and even better weekend.

Cheerio ... X

  4. What a perfect purchase from Venice, would love to go back there. Love the fall colors in this outfit, such pretty colors! We didn't get as many trick or treaters either!! Some people say it is because there are so many trunk or treats now, but I don't think that is why.

    1. Many thanks Carrie, Shame about the trick or treaters - yes that could be the reason. It's a shame for the children! Thanks and have a super week. x

  5. That blouse is absolutely gorgeous, Jacqui. I'm actually swooning over it. I love how you styled it too. And funnily enough: we didn't have any trick or treaters here either, so we've no choice but eat the treats ourselves ... xxx

  17. I really love this blouse and ought to have said as much when we met last week. The colour is super and is one that suits me too. Ginger is how I'd describe it, a great colour for your hair and skin tone. I think ruffles are never out of fashion and wear a cream ruffle blouse as a signature piece all year round. The whole outfit looks fab Jacqui!

    Have a great week!

  20. Great look Jacqui, lovely blouse. We had quite a few this year. We don't usually have many but we put some flying bats out and we got a few come knocking at our door. My Daughter misses going out now she is 12 so she brought her own sweets from the shop to give to others which I thought as really lovely of her :)
