5Over 50 - These boots were made for walking.

Hi there - so pleased you could stop by.
Today is the November 5Over50 style challenge.

I hope you've been watching the previous months, but if not here's a link to check Last months here.
Today's task was set by Anna - see her blog right here. I had the pleasure of meeting up with
Anna & Gail from the 5Over50 Group, you can see our meeting on the London Eye.

These boots were made for walking!

For me this should have been a walk in the park - sorry just had to do that!
I've got endless ankle boots that would fit the purpose beautifully, but alas not many knee high boots!  The reason being my rather large calves!  I struggle to find boots that will fit my ample legs, so with plenty of searching both on line and in the stores I'm sad to say I came up with big fat zero!
After telling you all on my Lotus blog post that my ankle boot collection was complete - I've bought another pair, opps!   These will look charming in the challenge, so by the time I got to the till, my outfit was chosen in my head!  No more strolling round the shops or ambling up and down the high street - my quest for boots was over.

Starting with these new boots, I added this Florence and Fred pleated skirt.  This I bought a year ago, but having worn it literally twice I thought I might be time to make an appearance.  Grey always works brilliantly with pink, so the grey, pink and white blouse from Debenhams got the job.  The pleated hemline is very trendy for the time being, but I got a 'twofer' because I wore it tucked into the pleated skirt to give a totally contrasting look.
I've had this cute padded jacket since I visited Edinburgh - watching the Rugby but adding in this fur collar makes it look very different, and gives a bit more warmth for a chilly day.

I found these pale pink patent boots in Primark, a little bit out of my comfort zone and if I'm honest not the most comfortable of shoes to wear for a long period but workable for short bursts.
I've always had a bit of a penchant for pointed toe footwear, it makes your feet look slimmer and I can do with all the help I can get with my fat little tootsies!  I did wear them all day on Saturday to watch Dreamgirls in London.  See below how I wore them with my frayed jeans.

Shall we take a look at the four other over 50 bloggers and see what they're stepping out it.

Meet Anna on her blog Anna's Island Style.

Love the 60's vibe Anna's got going on.  Complete with Iconic round glasses and necklace, you look amazing Anna.  Thanks for the challenge, it has been fun.

Wearing super OTK boots in her all black outfit,  I'm envious of these Gail - you've got a great set of pins! With a blast of leopard from her super cute clutch bag,  I feel everyone should own at least one item in leopard print.

These look a lot more comfortable than my boots, Laurie you look like you could walk for miles in these beauties.  Fabulous shots against that super backdrop.

Love this red coat Hilda, black and red are spot on for the coming season, wow to the pop of yellow too.

If you saw my Instagram on Saturday you'll see I went to see the Dreamgirls with my own dream girls & here's what I wore on my day in London.

I just have to share Saturday night's meal with you it was a-maz-ing.  We ate at Burger and Lobster, yep it just serves burgers and lobsters plus some divine cocktails - yum!

Until next time it's most definitely been a walk on the wild side!

Thanks Emily for taking these photos. 😊

Bye for now. X

  1. Gorgeous boots. Have to ask, are Primark boots comfortable. I've not tried their footwear ... yet. And you've magic-ed away your fringe! Hugs,x.

    1. Thanks Mary, but I have to confess they are not the most comfortable, but will be okay for short times or just going from 'car to bar'! Yes the fringe was clipped up for that shot! I'm in need of a little trim. xx
